Hello,
Here’s some information I found directly on x-pole’s website:"The X-Pole box set contains all you need to start pole exercise
and dance for ceiling heights 7’4”(2235mm) – 9’(2745mm)."I LOVE my x-pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I’m tall myself and have worked in some clubs that I could touch the ceiling while on stage. It’s no biggie. You’ll get used to whatever your setup is. You may even find that touching the ceiling with your foot / hand gives you options for new or different tricks. -
name: Marla
age: 32
location: Florida, US
stage name: some people still call me “KAT” from way back in the day.
lessons or self taught: self taught
spin or static: I have an x-pole but. Static is exciting and super fun but makes me nauseous.
shoes or barefoot: Barefoot most of the time but I have more fun in my white 6” ankle boots (Oh la la)
favorite pole move: The simple back hook spin. I love it because I can throw it in at any time. My pole is in my dining room so it’s not uncommon for me to be cooking and just hop on the pole for some random spins. They make me a happier cook.
day job: Senior Technician for an email security firm
your best/sexiest feature: I love my long legs and defined shoulders. Everything else in between could use some work https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
how you got into pole dancing: OOhh. Too much to write here. I actually posted a blog about how I got into it. Feel free to check it out…*Disclaimer* It’s long.
how you found out about studioveena.com: I spent hours on line checking out pole videos on youtube. I noticed that several of the ladies mentioned their Studio Veena challenges.
if you were a pair of underwear would you be a thong, boy shorts, bikini cut or granny panties: HHmm, depends on the day. 5 years ago, I would have said thong – hands down. Now I’m at a desk job all day and there’s nothing more aggravating than having a pair of thongs wear on my tailbone. I’m also outside a Lot. Most of my summer weekends I feel like I Live in my swimsuit so I’m usually tan. Thongs on my tan-line’d butt just isn’t pretty. I like cheeky boy shorts but secretly ……(I love my low rise prego panties… they’re so comfy). -
I’m still finding goodies all over the site and just now found this post. AAAaaa, Veena! I had tears too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Happy Tears of course.
As you may have read in my blog, I was in the dance "business" for several years and I too moved away from all my girls. We had such a close relationship working into the wee hours of the mornings all half naked with no secrets from each other (well, maybe a few secrets;)
I’m so very very happy you and your hubby have created this wonderful community for all of us. You’re doing a wonderful thing and I thank you for it. You’re giving me back all the good things I remembered and miss from my performance days without any of the negatives that came along with it. I’ll probably never be able to get back in touch with most of my older friends from those days. (oh man, I choke up just thinking about this). Thank you for building this community of new friends.

Haha. That’s Fantastic Veena. I’ve gotta try the glove method. I’ve got a box full of vinyl gloves left over from refinishing some furniture. Several months ago I found something funny on a pole exercise site referring to grips of dance boots. How’s this for a laugh….try hip waders or chest high fishing boots for getting that Superman accomplished.

When I was very young I used to watch my Mama’s Jane Fonda’s workout videos from the 70’s. That’s where I probably got most of my stretching background from. Some of the best stretching for me was to simply sit on the ground with my legs straight (start out slightly bent) and pretend like there’s a can of coke just past my feet. Try to reach past your feet and pick up the imaginary can.
Remember to really relax and breathe when you stretch. Breathing deeply forces more oxygen into your blood and muscles allowing them to be more flexible. Those same deep breaths can also give you a little bit of a euphoric feeling and along with the little bit of pain that goes with stretching it can be very relaxing.I’ll post a "flexibility" video soon to show you some of my favorite stretches.
Remember. Don’t bounce hard. You don’t want to pull or tear any muscles. Breathe through it.
Best of luck to you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -
It’s great to have you. Welcome https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m actually hoping some of the TG comes off on my pole. The chrome finish was so much easier on my hands for spins.
