My partner has been on this diet for about 6 weeks now and has lost a whole lot of weight. He is getting close to his target weight already!

The best thing I find to clean my pole down with every so often is Acetone. I rub it down with it every month or so or when I feel it is a little slippy(kids like to play on it so it actually does get a bit greasy if they have something on their hands, lol!). I swear the first week after I use the acetone I don't have to even use grip. I also love the fact that it leaves no residue and is dry pretty much instantly.

Hi, I can totally relate to what you are saying, I was feeling the same way about a month ago when I was entered into my first ever pole comp. I was ready to pull out as close to the day of the competition even! The night before I was feeling so insecure I was almost in tears and until I went to the rehearsal and saw the other girls dance I was ready to pull out. Guess what happened? I actually won!! I say do it even if it is just for you. Make yourself have a try just for yourself, so you can have the experience if nothing else. Modify your routine if you need to so that you can make it through it if that really is a problem, but you should at least do yourself the favour of trying. Don't think about how others will see you in the respect of not being pretty enough or thin enough because usually others see us in a much more favourable light than we see ourselves. Unless you are really totally unable to do your routine then I say give it a whirl. Nobody other than you ever expects you to be perfect really.

The studio I go to had chrome X-Poles and once the chrome coating is damaged they do in fact peel. The damage can be done by jewellery or whatever. Sounds like when you took it down you maybe loosened some of the plating around the joints or maybe it was loose to start with and you exposed the problem. I vote for giving X-Pole a call since it was at the joint area and it could have been a problem that was already there.

It got better after I loosened it, but never completely. After the drama of getting it up I didn’t want to take it down until after the competition I was entered in was over, but now that it is we are taking it down and taking it apart to see if that helps. The top joint where the extension goes on doesn’t feel right when I tighten or loosen it so I think there is something wrong there.

Wow, this just makes me gladder still that I usually pole with my hair up!! I have really long hair too and I find it difficult coming out of inverted moves on spin just to see the floor and figure out where to stop so I usually just tie it back!! I never even thought about my hair getting tangled on the pole!! Yikes!!

I have tried titanium, titanium gold, chrome and brass and I prefer my brass by far.
I use practically no grip ever on brass and have had no problem with keeping it clean or anything. Titanium gold would be the next choice though, if I couldn’t have brass -
I love that someone asks for the uncensored version in the comments!!
