I skip both my pole and yoga classes if it happen to be the first 1-2 days of my period. But only if it’s the first day or 2.
Not only I feel weak on those days but I also get painful cramps…nevermind the fact that the flow are heavier. =(

@nymphdancer- lol I’m a newbie so all my climb are pretty basic, I mainly use the top of my foot. So as long as my socks are low enough (no-show socks) it’s doable.
I can’t turn when I’m barefoot because my feet sticks to the hardwood floor.
When I get my pole (hopefully in a month or so) I might try Foot Paws since my apt is carpeted.

If you're learning inversion…should you use 45mm or 50mm? Not sure what makes a safer grip…better grip with hands (45mm) or better grip with thighs (50mm)?

Great video! Love your moves!! But I must say…I agree with heathalynne…it's definitely a false advertisement. If they don't plan on hiring you as an instructor, you should ask them to take off that ad off your video. (Or take your video off their ads…)
What you did was performance for a fundraiser NOT an advertisement for their studio. What they did is just wrong.
Can you imagine if they have a bunch of students signing up for pole class and they have an instructor that's not qualifying for teaching? That's very dangerous….and totally unethical.

Hmm….I actually want to know too. My hand is about 6.5" in length from bottom palm to tip of my middle finger. When I wrap my hand around a 50mm pole, there's a 0.5 inch gap. (Oh, I'm 5'4)

Hey Sherry~~ I'm a newbie to pole dance too…welcome to the club!!
Oh gosh..you got your Xpole chrome!! That's exactly what I wanted for my birthday! My only problem..I have limited space in installing the pole (I'm renting…a tiny living room and a small guest room with a freaking ceiling fan in the midde!!) BUT…I'll find a way…lol Even if I'm just setting up my pole to practice my climb!!
About your issue…is there anyway you can set up your pole at your bf's place?
Whenever I tell my friends that I'm doing pole fitness, they all say "why can't you pick a normal excerise like gymnastic??" or worse from co-workers "you plan on a change of career?? there's a club down the street" ARGH…In my mind, they are just jealous that I can get on a pole and they can't =P
Anyway…good luck and keep us posted!! ^_^

My instructor INSISTED we (all newbies) to pole with heels…I tried it for one class and almost twisted my ankle…after that, I just wear socks.
I’m considering split ballet flats now just to help with turns and friction to ‘land’ but im thinking about foot paws/undies too.
So…Which gives you more control: foot paws, foot undies or ballet flats?

@mizvix- thanks!! After the challenge of the ceiling fan, I need to remove a queen size bed in the guest room too. LOL
My bf said if I can find a ‘corner’ in the living, he’ll be ok with it too. I’m going to get a stud finder this week to see which is a better spot.
I REALLY REALLY want my own pole… I’m gonna find a way to MAKE it work!!!

Wow! Thanks for sharing!! I'd been using Mighty Grip and it only works for like 10 sec before I need to wipe my hands!
I'm going to try it this week!! Yipee!
