ok – that actually helps a lot – I guess if I want the form that I want, I need to figure out my CAR!

I hear you – I am acting as a single mom because my husband is deployed with the military. I am also in the military and work full time and take care of my four year old son and our house. I have been getting almost mad at myself because lately I feel so tired and not motivated. I feel like I am losing strength and have ZERO flow now. I know it doesn’t help – but you aren’t alone and don’t be too hard on yourself.

Well I am fully recovered, but I do have some screws in my vertebrae and two fussed vertebrae, which makes back bends just a little more difficult – but I am sure I will get there eventually.
-
Yes jsheridan – pictures would be of great help – my back isn’t that flexible. I was a gymnast when I was younger, but was in a really bad car wreck and broke my neck/ back 6 years ago – so I lost it all recovering from that.

Hmmmmm, alrighty – I thought that you could grab the pole or not, I shall just work on back bending 🙂

I just bought a heating blanket that I wrap around my pole. I hate dancing in a hot room, which is why I don’t use a space heater. You can get electric heated blanket at places like walmart 🙂

Your pain is almost definitely muscular in origin, but is not the diaphragm as you diaphragm is relaxing during exhalation. Might I suggest that you take a break from inverting for two weeks and ease into in slowly after that. Do some light thoracic stretching. If the pain is still there after a rest period or two weeks, consult your family physician or a physiotherapist.

probably not an injury from the breathing, that would be bilateral and inferior (where your diaphragm is. I think you have a strain of you intercostal muscle, which just needs rest to get better.

Hey – I spent a good 6 months researching everything I could. I live in Canada, and in the end the best bang for my loonie was the x pole. It was $80 shipping… all in all I ended up paying $500 CAD. It will probably be more because the loonie sucks lately, but it is worth every penny (or nickel now I guess lol!).

Hey! I am going to have a video review on up tomorrow. I’ll message you the link when it is up. I live in Northern Canada, which is very dry and have dry skin too!

Hey there!
Your body is unfortunately not ready to invert yet. During pregnancy, your abdominal muscles get pushed apart at your uterus expands. Your abdominal muscles are not knitted back together yet, so any moves that require a strong core are going to take time. What I recommend for my patients (more from experience than medical) is wearing a belly wrap after birth. It holds your abdominal muscles tight, increases stability and helps your body to heal. Despite what we see in celebrity world, birth is very traumatic on a woman’s body and 5 weeks is not nearly long enough to recover. Give yourself time to heal, and perhaps do some VERY mild abdominal exercises.
