Sooooo – I am sick as a dog with a sinus infection and haven’t been able to do splits stretching or pole since Sunday. My husband left on deployment on Saturday and I started a new job in my second language on Monday. And my son is being impossible because he misses his Daddy and started at a new school on Monday. ALL that being said – I feel almost OVERWHELMING guilt about not being in my studio working out or stretching. As a patient told me today, ” my everything hurts”. Anyone else ever feel so irrationally guilty?

Mine is nice and spinny! Sometimes a little too much – but I am a long time static user and am too used to throwing my body into spins…. way too much momentum for spinny poles.

It could be that you need something different than dry hands. I am in the process of doing a product comparison review for about 10 different grip aids/ antiperspirants. Each of them work a little differently and address different issues, so you might have to experiment with what works best for you (or wait for my video review to come out!)
Also, maybe work on slow release of grip. Have you ever seen those little tools people squeeze to increase grip strength? I use one but don’t know it’s name lol… perhaps try squeezing that and releasing it VERY slowly to gain more control of the relaxing of that muscle. Just my 2 cents!

Lilfairie you might just do better than everyone then!!! During pregnancy your body releases a hormone called relaxin, which makes your ligaments and tendons MUCH more elastic than when you are not pregnant!

I am going to jump on to this as well. I am in the Canadian Armed Forces and just got back a month ago from being away from my husband and son for two years (visiting every two months). But now, my husband is away! So I am going back to being a (doing it alone) mom, working full time at the base hospital, completing a Master’s degree and wanting to reach my pole goals… thank goodness for 7pm bedtime for my little man!
Short Term Goals:
Put together a routine
bullet to butterfly
inside and outside leg hang
ankle release
side V to superman (my nemesis!!!)
Put up a video (get over my fear of others seeing how non-graceful I am!)Long Term Goals
side and centre splits
handspring to split grip aysha
shoulder mount
other fun goodiesI hurt my left forearm doing something (I think split grip) – and it seems like it will not get better! I started doing some squeezy exercises to increase forearm strength.

Thanks pretties! I think I will order it today 🙂 and I will post a video review once I get it.

Mine does that as well, and I literally got it a month or so ago… I thought that was “just the way they are” – should I maybe call x-pole about it?

Julia Wahl is one that I love to watch – she doesn’t make it a stripper thing. Jenyne is admirable, but don’t always like her style, but the technical ability is out of this world!

Also, the x-pole comes with a layer of oil on it. The box mine came with had a note on it saying to be sure the clean the grease off before first use. It actually took me a good week to get the slick feeling off. I used ethanol (Vodka works too :-P). I haven’t used steam, but I would bet that a pressurized steam cleaner would expand the metal of the pole and leach out the oil that is hiding in the pores of it.

I guess I am spoiled! My hubby cleared out the entire finished part of our basement for me to have a studio. I am very new to this website… should I post a picture? I bought large mirrors for one wall and have a book shelf in the corner where I put my camera, speakers and computer. I have a large light in the corner and another one in another corner. I put down those foamy puzzle piece mats around my pole and adhered them to the floor. I think I am going to try to figure out how to make a crash mat next though…
