Wow this thread is so informative about weight loss it should be stickied!! Remember that especially with pole dancing how much you weigh does not matter as much as how your clothes fit! Make sure you take your measurements instead of just getting on the scale, you could be losing inches but gaining weight because your building muscle from pole dancing! Heres a quote from someone on another forum:

Muscle weighs the same as fat, that’s true, in the sense of 1 pound of muscle = 1 pound of fat. A lb is a lb.

However, what most people mean by "muscle weighs more than fat" is that muscle is DENSER than fat. Meaning, 1 lb of muscle takes up less space than 1 lb of fat. Meaning, gaining 5 lbs of lean muscle tissue will take up less space than 5 lbs of fat tissue.

    Here’s a picture example: https://www.studioveena.comhttp&#58://www.onefatguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/muscles.jpg
See how that muscle takes up a LOT less space?

Now, yuo might be built like me. In the past two years, I have been the same height (5’7) and weighed anywhere between 120 and 145. I was actually skinnier at my heaviest, due to weight lifting and working out. At 145, I was almost down to a size 3. At 120, I was pushing a size 9.

What helped me to get the scorpio with no hands was to position my leg with my foot also hooking around the pole, I think I saw veena or somebody doing it. Then after awhile of being able to do that I tried it without hooking and really focused on the push/pull of my leg to keep me in place. I always thought girls doing the scorpio were just hanging there by their skin but alot more was going on then i thought! Also remember to grip with the back of your armpit on your back and your side. I dont need to use grip aid for scorpio but I do have to be really warmed up

MM’s Sweet Dreams version is really cool, I like the guitar.
Jonathan Davis – System from Queen of the Damned would be fun to dance to.
redke71 did a performance to SRC’s version of Love Song, check it out on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYK97TORHv8

I heard, heels wise, that pleasers are better for people with wide feet and Ellies are better for people with narrow feet. Someone on here was selling their size 9 ellies somewhere.

you got hurt from doing basic stuff on the pole? The best thing to do to strengthen your body for the pole is..poling lol. Or push ups, pull ups, pole-ups, sit ups, tricep dips, butt lifts, v-ups, leg lifts, ect ect ect phoenixmarcy has a video on youtube that shows all of her pole conditioning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z3K3hIFmPs

Man that sucks, well once your better, what I do for an elbow stand is I come down into it from an inverted crucifix, because im not strong enough (and havnt tried for fear of missing the pole) to come up from the ground. I actually wasnt even strong enough to do an elbow/forearm stand at first but I just gradually added more weight by letting my legs go from an invert and now I can let go with my legs completely! So thats my way of doing it..yep, now im trying for a handstand and nope not strong enough!

Meleania, I think those pics you saw are on wikipole (http://www.wikipole.org) under the Shoulder Mount heading. There are 5 pics of 5 grips. They didn’t even include the Veena Grip yet..
Yea thats it! thanks for looking it up. I use the ‘Respect Grip’ it says on there
