I feel like I’m in a similar situation. I’m also a bigger girl who has been itching to try it out! I think it’s really important to make sure you’re engaging your audience. Watch how they react to different things and play off of that. Also be mindful of your expression. I think we tend to be very focused on what move we’ll do next and it often shows in our faces. Last, whatever it is you’re doing, SLOW IT DOWN. Sure, it’s cool to see lots of tricks and pack a lot of punch into a routine, but you have to remember who your audience is – a bunch of horny men who want to get a close up look at your naughty bits! LOL. If you don’t mind me asking, whereabouts are you from?

Also, just happened to think about this -depending on when his birthday is, you could take the Santa Baby workshop at my studio and use the routine at home. The instructors are really good about helping customize performances based on your comfort and ability.

So I know this post is super old, but Highest Heel does make a red platform similar to that…

I would suggest warming him up with a pole routine and then transitioning into the lap dance as opposed to switching between the two. Keep the pole work basic and be sure to do a lot of floorwork. Eye contact is a good way to make it hot.
When it comes time for the lap dance, I would start with sexy floorwork a few feet away from him for a bit, then slink over, place your hands on his knees and rub up, then back down his thigh to brace yourself to stand bent over him and wiggling your butt. After that it’s always a hit with the guys if you gently touch his inner thigh with your leg. I feel like I’m just choreographing right now lol. You can do whatever you’d like, but those are a couple ideas! I’ll try to find my favorite Youtube videos for lapdances, too! Btw I see you’re in Minnesota! What studio do you go to?

Thanks for all the help, guys!!! You are the BEST!!
@chemgoddess1 Unfortunately we just don’t have the volume or the clientele to separate classes based on ability. We do have one intermediate/advanced class, but it’s mainly tricks and some spins, no flow :(.
I’m not really sure why we don’t ever work on flow. I think it’s incredibly important and I’ve never known them to work on it as long as I’ve been going there…which is why I figured the more advanced students could work on that. @renemist34 it totally makes me feel better that you don’t think it’ll be a distraction! @Veena, I’m DEFINITELY going to check out your training manual!!!
And @penelopeann, I actually might suggest that to the instructors! How do you determine your levels?

Are you looking for music in a particular genre? Faster? Slower? I have TONS of songs.
