Hi Chloe! Glad you’re coming out of hiding! I know that any time spent on the pole will be beneficial, even if at this stage it’s just practicing holds.

    Enjoy your pole!

Hey munequita05, what Pleaser shoes did you get? I’m thinking of getting the Sugar 509 as a plain shoe for all (pole) occassions…

Aaaah. We call it V-Sit or something!

Well done! I still find this challenging, I don’t feel comfortable or balanced doing this move.

Sounds like you’re making great progress! Not sure what a ‘Hello Boys’ is! Amazing how terminology changes from one placde to another!

Hello fellow SAffa! Where are you from? I live in Johannesburg, Weltevreden Park. I’ve been poling for about a year now, loving it!

Maybe we could get together for a poling session sometime!

I’ve been dancing for just under a year and I’ve entered Amateur this year, so you’ll see me in the DVD, eek! I have my outfit nearly ready, my routine choreographed and nearly polished, just can’t always make the one move which is stressing me a bit!

Anyway, well done on the move, good luck with polishing it!

Rautenbach! You are not alone! I’m also in Johannesburg, the lady I dance with has 8 poledance franchises around the country including Fourways, Fairlands, Rivonia, Edenvale and Ruimsig! We are doing a poledance competition next weekend and Jenyne Butterfly is coming out! Have a look for poledancing on Computicket, I’m sure there are still tickets available!

And even if you don’t want to join a studio or come watch the competition, please message me, I’d love to meet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m also preparing for my first pole competition, too little preparation, too late, whilst my husband and I are contemplating divorce and he has asked me to move out.

OK so that sounds really self pitying.

My point is, we can only do the best we can, for where we are up to. Make sure you have chosen moves you can do, get the transitions in and out of the moves really smooth and polished, and practice smiling and exuding confidence! That will take you much further on whether you can stick that one extra trick!

Anyway, that’s what I’m telling myself!
