When I was watching the summer Olympics, (parallel bars) the only grip ade they were allowed to use, besides chalk was honey. Has any tried this? I am afraid to, if it doesn’t work, I don’t want to clean a sticky mess off my pole.

Okay, I hate to say this, but most of my pain comes from the skin sticking to the other skin. I hate having to “pull” it off, it causes burning. But not actual pain in the skin, but, if I smuch it against something like my countertop it is more painful than if I hit a regular spot. And it does seem to bruise easier.

I have the exact same problem. I am also waiting on my surgery to remove the skin. It will only be removed on my belly and a breast lift. The extra skin on my legs and arm will not be removed because there is no medical reason to remove it.
I love to dance. The biggest problem I have is I almost have to much grip with my thighs. Because of the exta skin. The one thing I hate is when I invert, I have to adjust my side on the pole to get my skin in place.
You should try it. It builds muscle and is so much fun. You get a great work out without even realizing it. Go for it. It has built up my confidence. Just have fun. Life is to short not to.

Thank you for your post. I do home poling and I do use studio veena’s web lessons. My doctor who is also interested but hasn’t tried poling tells me I may never be able to do a proper invert because of the nerve damage. The jasmine to shooting star worked. Just need more practice. 20 years ago I used to work at a dance club, but there wasn’t that much dancing going on. I love to dance, I just didn’t like the one shady club that was in our small town at the time. I have lost 70 pounds since I started back. In total I have lost 150 pounds. But what I like the most is the muscle I have gained.
