Ive been away from pole for almost two years, taking care of my sister who died from cancer three weeks ago. I negleted myself, and have gotten all stiff! And weak. Im looking forward to experiencing my body strengthen while I dance through this grief. So glad I could come back to veena…starting classes at ny pole tomorrow.

Be kind to yourself, and don't compare your progress with that of another polers (advice I need to start heeding!) Welcome, this is a wonderful community! Can't wait to see your first video.

My real name is Georgina. I picked Miss. Chief, becasue that's what I'm known as in some circles. NYC, well, cause it's the best city in the world, and I get to live here!

I do have issues with the x-joint turning, even with correct installation. One day when money permits, I may look into another company, or I may not. With that said…so what? SO WHAT if Veena has a preference to x-pole? I have seen a number of threads on different poles, all welcoming the "open discourse, free speech" which we all value here. I wouldn't call it a bias, I'd call it a preference…and again, so what?

OMG, thank you all for your responses. It's true, I can be a little hard on myself, and sometimes get lost in the criticism. I laughed when I read about body/style dysmorphia. Sometimes I think fate played a cruel joke on me, for in my mind I'm a great dancer, but my body is still playing catch up. It's all good. I love pole, and meh, maybe I'll never compete, maybe I'll never do splits….but eventually, I will find ME in my dance.

The bumps may have to do with irritation, and a good way to abate that is to moisturize, and use witches haze on the affected area. I'm in awe that you would do it yourself….Me? I'm too chicken. 🙂

I know it's frustrating. I have the same issue with my x-pole. I've demantled it twice, and still the x-joint rotates between the A & B poles. At this point, I just let the joint twist around, however, I've noticed that my A pole is begining to flare. Although I love the concept of this pole, I'm pissed at spending close to $400.00 bucks, for a product that I have to constantly maintain.
🙁

My husband is asexual (well auto…no blush, masturbation is wonderful), and I was for close to a decade.

Right now I'm overcome with inertia, as I have to take y pole down (again), and broom stick it. I'm not happy. I will say, my prior dealings with x-pole have been very positive, and I do look forward to future improvements.
