I'd LOVE to hear how these workj for you! But, I also was told by my instructor that I didn't need my gloves (half finger) anymore, as I forgot my gloves to take to class, and I did notice a huge difference in my grip. I'm going to order tite grip this week, and will see how that goes. But I do highly suggest using no gloves at home- if you have a pole (and a spotter for invert moves). The grip difference from gloves to no gloves is crazy! But, sweaty hands SUCK! argh. Nice to see another sydney sider:D

Pole has changed me a lot. I used to be A LOT more self conscious than I am now. Nowadays, yeah I'm fat..but I have tone, you can see I have muscles/tone, and hell.. I'll beat anyone that criticises me by plank competition any day-sipping a cider while I do so!! I needed that confidence, and am so happy for it.
On the standing taller thing, I REALLY wish I did.. but I don't.. call me crazy.. >.< but my head/neck hang as I'm always looking down to make sure I'm not walking on ants, lizards, bugs of any kind, etc. It bums me out as I want better posture, but I don't want to kill or harm something else just for that. Argh. >.< Mayhaps I just need to work on lowering my gaze..

Not a helpful post, but good luck. I can only pole in the mornings at my place, it gets full sun in the afternoon and is impossible to pole in after that hits. Fingers crossed you get a solution. A good fan? Portable air con? Anything??

OH oh oh! Posted too soon, I'm SUPER keen and saving hard to get Veena lessons! I need plain and simple breakdowns for teaching, (dancing does NOT come naturally to me!!!! And as far as I'm aware, Veena breaks it down SO well!!! I need/want that!)

Try to stretch often. I started out stretching for a year 4-5 times a week for 30 minutes- aim was to get floor splits, I can send you a chart of what I did if you like, if worked well.. Then I got Alethea Austins DVDs and use them 3-4 times weekly.
I poled once a week for many months, then saved and bought my own pole and then did two pole sessions a week- one at home, one in class. Worked up to 3-4 sessions a week.
Lately I've been in a massive slump, but I still go into my pole room 3 or so times a day, and do a V invert 2-4 times each side. Even it's just whilst waiting for my toast to pop, I always do some v-inverts daily, as well as one climb (two to three optimal) to the top of the pole. Even these little daily efforts, I find make a huge difference. -
I'd love an invite if possible, please! Email is m.ascough@hotmail.com

I know I had the strength to do t his, but couldn't. From posts previously on here (*sorry I can't give credit to the person who said this as I can't recall) but… look BEHIND you. I always seem to focus on the top of the pole. As soon as I looked behind that, it was a cinch. Try that! I hope this helps 😀

Love the belt idea!
Also, would be in to the idea of making it into a one piece thing? Like these…

Oh that's such a lovely idea! It made me cry, however- my man just left for the Air Force and won't be back for at least 10 weeks.
Though, this gives me lots of time to practice!Thank you!
