Sounds fun! I need to get my Halloween costumes out🎃

7 inch heels are high if they are your first pole shoes so they’ll definitely take getting used to but they look great right? My advice is to be careful about the surfaces you walk on. Hard surfaces only. Carpet is a killer in new shoes. I walked around my kitchen for hours over the course of a couple weeks when I upgraded to 7 inch before I tried dancing in them. One of my teachers also had the advice to turn your feet out slightly when you walk forward. That helps stabilize.

I can understand that frustration! Just did my first competition at my studio last night and putting it together the last 2 weeks has been crazy. I think you have to stick with the moves you are good at and just work to connect them. Are you allowed to climb on the spinning pole because that may allow you to use it without really spinning too much. Or maybe a really slow pretty spin?
Anyway, I’m new to this so take my advice for what it’s worth. Luckily someone talked me out of changing my whole routine the day before haha.
To me it’s a huge accomplishment just to sign up and perform cuz not everyone can do that. Bring your own style and confidence to it and you will be great! Sending positive thoughts your way during this preparation process. You got this! -
Great advice, thank you! I tend to lose perspective when I’m filming over and over. I gave it a couple hours and rewatched and was pleasantly surprised.

I definitely had those fears at the beginning. It seemed like it took me forever to invert when other people are willing to just try it on their first day. Once I got the invert though and was able to actually let go with my hands it has become my favorite trick. The cross ankle release was another obstacle that took me longer than everyone else it seemed to get. I think we all have our different fear thresholds and comfort zones and as long as you keep working up to it you will get there in your own time. And you’ll probably even have better form because you will be more prepared along the way.
