In my case I can do souldermount even aerial way(from figurehead). From floor I can do it slow using cup grip or less slow with twisted grip. For me, twisted grip for shouldermount is a little unconfortable but with cup grip no big deal. Also I can do cartwheel with very little kick.

I agree with the fact of be careful. I got hurt in my lower shoulder. I think I began trying it to soon. Now I can only get it by kicking and bringing the leg behind the glutes, then put them in V.
I really dont understand but this move in particular become obsesive. I saw the Dakota video and found it helpful but if anyone knows about others, let me know, please.

Hello everyone. I will talk some by my experience. I recently opened my studio too, here in Dominican Republic. I did spend all my savings because of trying to run my own business, for first time in life.

The good thing about doing it this way is that you don`t have to pay interests to a bank. I did a budget on a excel sheet and tried to stick to it the best I could. To run this pole dance studio I needed aprox. 5,000.

Some of the more expensive things are: air conditioning, wall bars, wall covered with mirrors, space rental (I rented a little one, almost 500 sq feet), 4 XPole Xpert and one XStage, paint & decor, sound system and so on.

If you think my budget would help you do your own, please write me at rodriguezalmonte.karina@gmail.com and/or powerdollsstudio@gmail.com
I can send it to you and some photos of my studio, that maybe inspire you. I will be pleased to help.

    Sorry about my English…

  • Congratulations!!!

I agree with Hazelnut. It is a personal choice. I have X Pole Xpert Brass 40mm and I love it. I have small hands so my grip improved dramatically. Before this pole  I had a chrome 45mm, also from XPole. This is the only brand that I trust.

I really appreciate the discussion. I almost fall in the trap until I saw a picture of a video I have already checked in youtube. That was the moment when I got suspicious and decided to wait. I am glad didnt waste my money.

I started practicing with a Chrome XPole Xpert 45. Recently I changed to a Brass  XPole XPert 40 and I love it. I have little hands, I´m a really short woman, so I needed a better grip. I think I took the best choice because brass is great to enhance grip too.  Hope this hepls…
