FYI Joni1, when I emailed Platinum Stages for info about this model, they told me pole extensions would be available for it soon. Are you able to post any videos using it?. I’m very interested in this, however I’m 5’9 and 160 lbs. It would be so great to be able to travel with the pole!

Wow…looks pretty awesome! I look forward to seeing some reviews by other people…and I guess you can increase stability with some small sand bags if you have to…maybe if working with the extensions. This could be the perfect compromise for me and the boyfriend! Happy poling!

PaulaB : I forgot to add that I too had a lift when I replaced my implants, and this takes even more time to heal. Be very cautious after your surgery as a lift is more invasive and you may end up having stitches or suture lines re-open even several weeks after your surgery. I am very happy I went with the procedure and love the results now after 1 year, but be aware that a lift may keep you from poling for a couple months after surgery. There is a forum at http://www.makemeheal.com where you may find useful info about healing, vitamins, etc. for after your surgery.
    Good luck!

Hey there..just thought I’d add my 2cents! I too have cohesive gel under the muscle, done last march. I didn’t start poling until recently, but my PS told me after surgery to not lift my arms over my head for about 2 weeks, and then to not do any real lifting for about a month ( not neccessarily lifting weights, but rather to not lift med to heavy boxes, pushing and pulling a heavy vacuum, etc). Just make sure you give your body proper time to heal. Going under the muscle can be painful and take longer to heal…your chest will feel very tight, but massaging the pec muscle will help to relax it. My only complaint with my under the muscle is when the pec muscle contracts ( ex when doing pushup or pulling up the pole ) the girls shift a bit to move with the muscle. But I have no problems now, and they are much better than my previous set of saline! And I think there is validity to what honey rose wrote too…as with all muscles you want to make sure you stretch the fascia and everything to keep it from tightening up too much. Talk to your PS about your upper body workouts, and they will tell you the best recovery time before you get back on your pole. Cheers!

Hey thanks…I didn’t realize it was such a new product. The original Platinum Stage looks good too, though I like the idea of a bit more room at the bottom with such a low platform. I saw the Alena Downs video, but she only assembles the unit and doesn’t demonstrate any dance moves. I would love to see someone in action to see how stable it is!
    Cheers! Morgan

When I ordered my pole on this site ( Thanks Veena!) the shipping to Ontario came to $50 I believe…was delivered pretty quick too! I believe that is cheaper than what you might pay on other websites. Of course this might vary depending on which province you are in.

I would say that if you’ve increased your poling..especially doing perhaps more inverts or other techniques which rely upon upper body strength..that you are simply adding more muscle. Try incorporating more cardio to balance out the strength training to lower your body fat, and remember that good diet and LOTS of water (to prevent bloating) to keep the body running clean and smooth will also help.

Hey there! I’m new to poling and have taken Level 1 at Aradia Fitness ( I’m in Ontario Canada). They state that after taking a certain amount of their classes..say completing minimum 4 levels or something…that you qualify to take an instructor course through their studio. I would imagine that if you have completed a Personal Trainer or Fitness Trainer program to work in a gym, that any poling studio would then take you on for instructor training with the proper skills. Again, this is just speculation. Give it a shot!
