I HATE STRETCHING! I effing hate it. It's so boring and painful! Grrr!!!

But I make myself do it.

Yes I notice a difference when I go days without stretching. Recently got my splits but then I took a few days off and I regressed a little. It's how it goes. I think I just gotta push myself to like stretching more. So I recently started taking yoga. Its okay but you know.. the whole stretching part… grrr..

Good luck! Congrats on making the decision to try teaching pole! I assist teaching pole at my studio and even run my own pole fit class. It was all a learning experience for me. I used to be really nervous.

Here's the thing.. you've been a pole junkie for years so you know your stuff! This should be natural for you. I would suggest one thing people look for in a pole instructor is to keep a really happy positive attitude when teaching. Get excited for the student over small successes. Practice saying what you would if you were teaching some transitions, spins, tricks, etc. I found Veena's videos to really help me learn to be an instructor. Even looking on youtube for other video tutorials helps you teach the stuff first.

Make sure you stress safety! At the beginning of the class you should make sure you explain proper wrist holds and keeping shoulders down so no one pulls any muscle or hurts themselves.

You will be great! Good luck. 🙂

My buddy Gary just opened up his new studio. Eros Fitness. http://www.erosfitness.com

I can't remember the thickness of the poles. I'm pretty sure they are 50mm though. However he has both spinny and non spinny.

Thanks for all your responsis. 🙂 Def gonna give silks another try. I'm such a pussy when it comes to height and drops. All that wrapping is sooooo scary and confusing omg. I think I just want to stick to different poses. Oh and I love how I can just wrap my feet in silks and then practice splits. 🙂

    YAY!!! 🙂

I've seen some girls at the studio who take long breaks and then come back and have to start at an earlier level to catch up again. When you don't use it, you lose it. But it always comes back. 🙂 I'm glad you caught up. No more breaks now. Get back on that pole and work it! 🙂

This summer, I forgot I had Dryhands and Mightygrip in my purse when I went through security. And I was let through without being searched, no questions asked. So I donno.. I guess it depends who you get that day. One time I had a cream lip chap and I had that taken away. That security officer was obviously in a bad mood that day.

I don't think it's even necessary to question if a winning pole competitor should have their crown taken away just because they won't be there that day because they are competing else ware. It wasn't a rule. And I just feel strongly as a Canadian that we should support our Canadian Pole Athletes in what ever competition they are in. 🙂

Ohhh I just had this one explained to me the other day. Whatever side your shoulder mount is on, that hand must be your bottom hand. That same bottom hand slides quickly down to grab the pole as your other arm is bent and grabs the pole. LOL. That probably doesn't make much sense. I haven't been able to do this one yet. Good luck! 🙂

I've had probably 2 bad falls. And yes I felt a lil nervous to try the trick again. It think it's something totally normal your body and mind thinks to protect itself. But I just got back up there as soon as I could to retry the trick over again until I got it. I'd wait until you are fully recovered and the moment you are, retry the trick just so you get over that fear. 🙂

    Best of luck.
