A huge part is the money, though I know it will be hard to get one of I change my mind in Hawaii. The other problem is that I really enjoyed dancing while I had mine up, but I was so busy that workout/strength building was the last thing on my list.
So yeah, it has to do a lot with both- my fear of spending a TON to ship it out and then never getting any better 😛

Wow. Ok, if this is really a toy out there I have a couple of issues with it, but these are the same issues that I have with Guitar Hero! I have no problem with a young person wanting to learn to pole dance, or learn to play the guitar. BUT that involves practice, physical excursion, disappointment and a REAL learning process. My issue with toys like these is that they are based completely in the play/fantasy realm, and I’m not sure what the objective is. I do realize that play is necessary for any person (not just kids!) but when does the marketing of "play" become the real issue?
I don’t have kids, but if my daughter wanted to buy this I’d say "Honey, it’s only another $200 for your OWN X-Pole!"
Besides, my mom still thinks I want to be a stripper for buying a pole, and my next question is, who the hell in Middle America would buy this for their daughter? If it doesn’t play in Peoria…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif

Well, my fiance is a former timber-framer and super cautious about everything, so I’m hoping that’s a good combo to keep safe! He’s kept my artsy ass from being hurt more than once now!

Nice to meet you all, I wish I were in the Chicago area and could take lessons! Sadly, I am in Central Illinois…
Just got my pole today (it’s titanium, still wish I had gone with the chrome, oh well!) and have to find a new place to put it… Maybe my artist’s studio!

My X pole should be here Friday… 45mm Titanium… unfortunately, I have to shoot a wedding Saturday and will be thinking about putting the dang thing up all day! The Fiance (also known as Mr. Slave https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif) is clearing out our living room to make room, and I’ve been dancing around, stretching, and even joined a gym this week. He thought I was crazy when I took up piano lessons this summer, but I’m on a roll. I’m tired of feeling like I don’t have time outside of school/work to do things I enjoy! 6 more months until I birth my thesis baby, I can’t wait to have my life back….
I have about 15 lbs of extra grad school weight that I’m carrying, so I can’t imagine posting videos until I know how to do somethings and won’t look like a chunk while doing it! However, I’m wondering if there are any pole dancers out there who also do performance art or modern dance, and if they’ve incorporated into their pole work? I’ve done a lot of choreography and performance work (drag shows and pageants!) and want to find a way to be creative while I work on the technical things…
I’m so excited!!!

I’ve tried to read as many posts as possible, this wasn’t an impulse buy, I just hit the wrong button!
