I just wanted to respond to this, as it has slightly offended me – I know you’re trying to convince your parents that you’re not being ‘skanky,’ but I feel in commenting on this you are implying that professional dancers are the definition of skanky.

"most strippers cant do much, if anything on a pole!"

I really don’t think this is true – I’ve worked in clubs for 4 years now, and I know there’s not many other girls on here who have worked in the industry, but there are a few. I’ve found it takes a lot longer to learn how to pole dance when you’re working in a club because you don’t have time to practice, so I find the girls who don’t do much on the pole just haven’t been dancing very long. I’m not wonderful, but I do feel I can do more than the ‘nothing’ that you are suggesting most dancers are capable of. I have seen some really amazing dancers in clubs, some that still make my jaw drop no matter how many times I watch them. Death lays, handsprings, crazy spins… One of my friends does things that really shouldn’t be possible – she constantly defies gravity.

There are many styles of dancing though, and quite a few of the tricks look cool but aren’t necessarily sexy and aren’t really appropriate for a club. Maybe find a video of somebody dancing in a really sexy way, and find a pole fitness workout video to show your parents the difference – it’s like going to the gym.

As for the shoes, I really don’t think they’re necessary. They do make you feel sexier, but I would just stick them in the cupboard for a long while and only wear them occasionally. I always learn new things without the heels, as it feels much safer if you fall or become unbalanced – If i fall in the heels I try to land in a way that won’t break them, instead of worrying about breaking myself.

I did find it easier to climb the pole in heels when I first started, but I only buy ones with clear plastic on top – I don’t think the others stick as easily. That is the only thing I would use them for – show your parents how sticky they are compared to your skin.

Aw thanks guys! You’re so sweet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif *hugs!*

I had a great day, aside from having to do court reporting all day and then having to work all night, lol
I did my first successful double knee hold while dancing to a sexy birthday song, so that made it awesome https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have the same problem glitter, I feel so stupid not knowing what to do with my hands… I never used to do any moves where you just held it and hung around looking pretty, so I have no idea what to do. I had a gymnast try and show me how to ‘present’ I think she called it (with your fingers all separated and pointed funny) and I failed that after ages of her trying to show me… I can’t get my wrists at the right angle. And then another girl tried to show me how to hold your hands all pretty like you do in ballet, and then SHE gave up as well after like half an hour… so now I just grab my boobs. Hmph!

    aw thanks Sascha! *blushes*
Your routine sounds insane! I can’t believe how much thought you’ve put into it, it’s going to be so amazing. Guys can be unpredictable though, so be prepared to improvise a little in case something happens like he doesn’t want to put his hands on your boobs (I know that sounds stupid but sometimes they just feel uncomfortable), or he is too flustered to get on the ground. He might put his stupid hands in the way of where you want to go, or something like that. Sometimes I"ll tell a guy to sit back in his seat (which is one of the rules, so we don’t get too close), and he’ll move forward. And I’ll go ‘No, BACK’, and he’ll move so far forward that he’s almost lying on the ground. And I’ll say ‘No, Pick yourself up, sit down, move your bum so it’s touching the back of the couch.’ And they’ll stand up and look at you like an idiot. Sometimes they’ll move across the couch so they’re sitting sideways. I have spent at least 5 minutes once showing a guy how to sit in a chair… that is not an exaggeration, and sadly it happens on a regular basis. Maybe their minds are just not in the right place to understand instructions during a lapdance, or they’re just stupid, or both. I don’t know. Anyway, moving them can sometimes be difficult, so be prepared to not freak out if something (ie the boy) messes it up!

And I kind of assumed you would be filming it.. you better film it! I want to see this! Especially the sexy fireman outfit! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hey Sascha, I just wanted to repeat what’s already been said about guys not caring. They really really don’t care. I’ve had hour long lapdances where I’ve just sat there and occasionally bounced up and down to make my boobs jiggle (that’s not very civilized, I’m sorry!). Guys will just sit there going ‘OMG THIS IS AWESOME YOU HAVE BOOBS’ for hours and hours, and at the end of it they will be like ‘wow that was the best lapdance ever.’ Meanwhile I’ll be thinking ‘wth, I literally just sat there, are you retarded?…’ They are so easily amused it’s just not even funny! You could flop around on the floor like a beached whale and they’ll still be sitting there going ‘OH GOOD GOD there’s a girl in front of me! Yes!’

Your floor moves vid is awesome, which you already know, but I wanted to point out that every move you do is very deliberate and perfect. You don’t even have a pinkie finger out of place! If I sat there with a microscope I still don’t think I could find anything wrong with any of your moves – I honestly think you are going to blow this guy away. He’s going to have a heart attack or something! Imagine how nervous he is going to be too- you’ve done this before, he might not have! You will be way less scared than him, I guarantee it.

Hey, just wanted to shout out another thank you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif My friend was really grateful for the suggestions, and they turned the lights off on us the other day and practically had to drag her out because she wouldn’t get off the pole and go home, lol.

Thanks heaps for your reply https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I feel quite silly not knowing what half of those are… I know the spins though, and I’ll try her on some of those while she’s practicing climbing. I’ve only recently realized that I don’t know half the basic moves, so I’ve been going though them all and trying to figure them out… I tried the shoulder mount this week and got it easily, but I also only just learned the beginner attitude spin so I’m all over the place.. not the best person to be helping her! The tricks become quite concentrated in a club if there are no new experienced girls – we help each other out, but you can’t help somebody with something if you don’t know how to do it, so it’s hard to learn something new without having seen it in person before. So bear with me… I did try looking your suggestions up, but couldn’t find much!

It’s the sits that have me lost… I know the wrist sit and that’s all. I’ve seen ‘peter pan’ for a move like the carousel (maybe the same?) – is this the one you’re talking about?
Plank – is this when you’re straight across the pole with one hand above and one below? And if so, would you need to master going upside down with your legs straight first? (cross ankle release?)
I think I found the stargazer – is that with one leg crossed and then leaning back?

If those are right and it’s not too much trouble, please could you fill me in on the others? (swan, drama queen, thigh hold, scissors)

Thank you again for your help – she’s almost learned the hip dip (followed by a pirouette) and the fireman spin, and got really really excited that she’d finally figured something out! So I can’t wait to give her a list of things that she would actually be able to learn at her level https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Hey,
I have 2 calluses on each hand – one under each of my middle fingers. They’ve been there for 3 years and they don’t seem to want to go away any time soon – when I had a 2 month holiday they still didn’t budge, unfortunately. So I don’t see them suddenly disappearing any time in the near future. I used to put special creams and stuff on them every day before bed to try and make them go away, but to no avail. I’m glad I’m not the only one at least!
