Color doesn't lift color… So once you've gone dark- the stripping process is hell on wheels. Veena hit the nail on the head. Also as a licensed stylist i wouldn't recommend it unless you want the crunchies- or your hair in the shampoo bowl :o/
Hair has 10 levels in coloring and trying to go from say 1 (Black) to 10 (Blond) is no go.. think blowing the cuticle out of it's frame- that's where you get the dry look from… Hair can only take so much. Either way- Veena is right. I'd be conditioning the heck out of my hair prior to coloring and certainly if you're trying to lift- but the real answer to the dark is shears.

I think for some studios it is more common in "beginner" classes. My studio doesn't do it at all. They only allow booking for the availible amount of poles 10. But some places figure newer polers won't have the "enegery" to pole for an hour and most new polers totally do. I'm in LA, so i am sure my options are more wide- but I certainly wouldn't want to attend a studio that shares.. I am stingy with polin' and as you've said- i paid for an hour of my OWN pole.

I agree with these ladies fully. I go to a studio and there are times where a move and at times certain grips… may be simply too advanced for my strength level. I think people do learn the things at faster/slower paces, but at the end of the day- if i am not comfortable attempting it at my strength/experience level I don't… Call me scary or "not confident" I just know where I stand and I am stil building strength… I am simply not trying to be bandaged or slinged up for attempting something i'm not really ready for yet. Period. Do what is comfortable and move along at YOUR pace. `

New Pole Dancer in Southern California!Hey Sherry.. yes it is tough being under someone elses roof and wanting to "do your own thing" just respect their wishes to the best of your ability, do what you need to to get out and be successful on your own sweetie. Sometimes it takes time… (or roomates) but believe you-me you can't put price on peace of mind…lol! In regard to telling others.; what they think matters not… I am a 29 year old mother of 1, 6 year Navy veteran, CA licensed cosmetologist, Bachelor degree in management toting WOMAN who currently is a department head for IT administration for the Navy… and I POLE DANCE. I have no shame and I don't defend my choice to do it either. Why? Because I'm grown and I made the choice to do ALL of those things… If they don't like it too bad. As you get older trust me your wanting to care about what "they" (whoever they are) think will diminish ESPECIALLY when you start paying your own bills. Either way keep your head, practice when you can, and stay positive. You'll get there soon enough.
