I am a retired nurse and semi retired dancer. My job now is to be my husbands alarm clock . Since we both sleep through alarm clocks.I am a night owl by nature. So I spend my nights sewing and my mornings getting my husband off to work and then I get to play with my horses and dogs . Not very exciting but I can not complain, it is very peaceful.

I use pleasers and they tend to run smaller in size. I notice the clear tops are tighter when it is cooler out, until my feet warm them up. They also tend to stretch out faster than my black ones.and also shrink back (more or less) according to temperature. In my experience the black ones will tear away from the shoe before the clear ones, but that is after a lot of use..When the strap on the back starts to go, I will cut them off and use the shoe as a slide on. I try to get my money's worth :). When I am lazy I cheat with thigh high boots, They grip really well for me.I usually buy my shoes smaller. So when they do stretch out and not really go back, I am not swimming in them.Which means I get a little longer use out of them. My shoes only last me 6 months when I am dancing every day . If I only dance a couple times a week they last a lot longer.

My favorite pair only lasted so long. When the washing machine was taking it's toll on them, I went shopping and just never found a pair that was as confy ,So I made a pattern from them and I sew new ones . It leaves the sky the limit on how I want them to look with the comfort and security of the originals. It did take me a few practice pairs to sew before I mastered making them. You would be surprised how many pairs I can make out of a half a yard of fabric..

Hi, In my experience Pleasers run a size small. So a size 8 fits like a size 7.I don't buy my shoes comfortable, because as you dance in them they stretch out. So if I suffer a little bit I get a little more time out of my shoes. Also the platforms are much easier on your feet. A 2" platform on 5 inch heels, is more like a 3" heel with no platform… ( your kind of tricking the balls of your feet.) If your going to be spending a lot of time in them.. it helps. But the platform part of the toe(tiipy toe) can be slippery to you at first ( if you do floor work and are getting back up) Also the no skid sticker is advisable for the bottom of the shoes, if your going on stage with them. I would not recommend for your floor at your house , If you like your floor . I hope that helps. You can find pleasers on sale quit often at certain online stores.I just bought a pair for $30 with shipping at Electric Botique . (They have a great last pair sale section.)
