The two organizations I referred to in my previous post were a local womens shelter and a local food bank for a homeless shelter, so at this point im asking for ideas on your favorite national or international organizations.

I like this! Keep us posted when you add more styles, I’d love something that is wide and solid leather (instead of the thin strips of leather). Great idea and very pretty, and I’d spend $25 on it 🙂 are they hand made?

Im glad you’re trying something challenging for yourself! As others have said, be allow yourself to progress at your rate and try not to compare yourself too much. From a teachers perspective, I am always amazed by the bravery of a student for whom pole is more challenging than others but who sticks with it and charts their own improvement at their own pace. From a personal perspective, I know that everyone struggles with some feelings of being “less than”, especially in a room full of other women who we want acceptance from. For me, pole is a journey that has helped me in many ways, and sometimes my struggles end up helping me find unexpected strengths and build a personal style:) Good luck!

I use toupee tape! They carry it at a local costume shop and it works amazingly.

Thanks everyone! I am a teacher, and I think that adds to it sometimes as I can’t always take a break. I also posted this for my students as many of them are reaching a leveling off point simultaneously as they build more strength for new moves. This weekend Itook a vacation and was able to take a pole and an aerial silks class, and I also saw a burlesque show with pole dancers (I’m in Vegas) and I had so much fun! I would add to this list: go see a dance performance. I am really feeling inspired! Thanks again all.

Is this the same move as the Russian splits? If it is, make sure the pole is locked and not spinning.

That video is super cute! It is more of a freedance than a warm up to me, I don’t invert while warming up. I find hip circles and body rolls are great to warm up with, and they’re pretty sexy movements as well. You can even do them in heels to add some sexy-factor:)

I have to chime in on the allergy topic! I have absolutely INSANE allergies, and I tried everything for them, nothing worked without making me drowsy or brain dead. Recently I heard that vitamin C is a histamine blocker so I started taking it, about 3000mg per day, and my allergies are completely gone!! And as a result I rarely need my asthma inhaler and my skin is looking much better (I also had eczema). Its practically a miracle, I had to share:) good luck!
