Thanks Tarah. It’s hard to know what to say to anyone at times like this – but anything is appreciated.

We’ve got the funeral tomorrow which will be a tough day. I’m always terrible with the idle chit chat you have to at the house afterwards when everyone comes back. When my mother in law died just acouple of weeks ago I just slipped away and slept upstairs till people had gone.

Has to be done, and it’s just one day after all.

Sadly my father in law passed away this week as well. We’re going through so much right now – suddenly the other stuff I was worrying about doesn’t seem as important.

I can only hope our lives are going to get better soon

Thank you so much for answering guys – you really won’t know how touched I am and how much better it’s made me feel.

These past 12 months have been really tough and I should think of it this way that I have been strong enough to survive so far.

I do love pole and really hope I get my passion for it back – same as with everything it will take time is all.

Think it would be confidence building to start really improving what I can do. I’m always inspired by people who make it all look so beautiful 🙂

Thank you so much – you have helped me more than you know x

Know the feeling of no motivation ALL too well! You’re not alone.

I was thinking in your case you said you were just learning at home. Maybe you should try and find a class near you? It’s surprising how much being around fellow polers can make you feel happy and motivated – and sometimes even competitive which can help you push on to try that next nemesis move 🙂

(my current nemesis is the knee hold – and it drives me nuts that most of the rest of my class can get it! Good reason to keep trying, even if it is going to take me months of frustration lol)

Hi guys – the UK version of events here 🙂

First of all, so sorry to hear you have had to go through this. This company had no right to use your name. Must be very frustrating!

We have something in the UK called the data protection act – it means you can’t print details about someone, or their picture, without their consent, and you can’t hold details on someone for any unnecessary length of time. Don’t know if this applies in the USA? Or something similar?

Ive just left a job after going through 9 months of horrible legal crap. I found emails where they were being down right horrible about me and it was a case of harassment and defamation. Nothing came of it without me having to go to court, which I can’t afford, but when I chose to resign I advised them to remove my name and image from their website.

Similar to you, it wasn’t necessarily negative stuff on the site – I just never want to be associated with them again.

I gave them 1 month to comply before I would take legal action.

Hope you might be able to follow something similar 🙂

Why cant people just be decent to one another?

Took me two long days if breaking it down into elements then putting it back together again 🙂

I use a bracket hold, strong hand quite low to the ground for early practice (means you don’t have as far to flick up!). I stand facing the pole and swing the outside the a little to get momentum.

At first I just did the flicks into tge air. Builds strength, let’s you know where you are going and how high you get.

When I was getting pretty high I’d pull my legs into a tuck to turn upside down. I did a few just hanging upside down with my legs tucked in to get used to the weight, etc.

When you are happy getting upside down you can then straighten out the legs 🙂 ta da!

As it gets easier you’ll use the tuck less. I’ve now got the twisted grip down as well 🙂 well chuffed!

Ps. My method seems to differ from a lot of people but it works for me – everyone is a bit different

Oh my life, there is an unhooked version? Haven’t even seen that before. Well done you!

Would love to see it 🙂

I do the star aerially so I know I have a good grip that way. I’ve been switching between the floor and up the pole as I’ve been trying – just today using support for both methods.

As soon as the bruising goes down I’ll update on my next attempt 🙂

We were talking about it in class tonight and they said to try and find a more fleshy but to rest on than the shin bone which makes sense.

Problem is my knees are so boney it’s hard to find a comfy spot.

At least this gives me a new technique to play with tho – getting into position and playing with tge resting leg in a few different places.

I’ll see if I can get any tips tonight at class and keep you posted if there’s any inspiration 🙂

I am SO glad to know it’s not just me 🙂

Thanks guys, not got the lessons yet but tempted to upgrade when my wages come in 🙂

    Will keep on at it.

I thinks it’s also frustration at seeing some people get it so easily that’s getting to me – when to me it hurts like **** 🙂
