I completely relate to you…I used to have injuries while inverting and doing shoulder mounts. I had to stop for months and I went to physios. Now the pain is gone BUT I know the injury is still there, I felt it during a shoulder mount the other day. The pain is just waiting for the extra push to appear. It’s really annoying and discouraging…

Thank you for your replies!!
I also thought of buying the Rpole but it looked not so stable and so expensive!
Unfortunately you need to be super strong or have a man around to help you to move this thing around.
Have you tried using the pole without the panels? I agree with Veena that it might be a bit dangerous since the base might move, but have you tried this?

Great topic!
I posted it on Facebook when I went to my first pole class. My parents (150% conservatives and traditional) are now absolutely excited about it (after showing them what pole really is about). My brother and some close friends had the wrong image of the sport (even after months!!), so now, everytime I tell someone I pole dance, I do it by showing them a video of Natalia Tatarintseva (she does a very artistic, gymnastic pole dance). This is where they open their eyes like eggs and say “but this looks like like ballet, or ice skating”!”, and then they accept they had just prejudices.
My co-workers don’t know it yet (I’ve been working in this company for 3 months only and I work in a legal department…). But I will tell them eventually and I will have the video ready. If they still have a negative opinion about it, then I will just think they have some mental disorder sexually related. Their problem, not mine!

Btw, I’m intermediate, had a lot of back problems, so I need to be careful with inverts and shoulder mounts and I’m not into sexy pole, but I don’t mind training with other styles 🙂

Yes!!! I’m from Switzerland, so same time zone, I believe! I’m free to train on Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays evenings (after 7 pm). Would be so nice to have someone to train with 🙂

Thank you for such a helpful answer Snowwwhite!!!! Photo shootings is one of the uses, but I’m so looking forward to try new tricks (I also noticed it is less painful!) and to be able to do small choreographies in spinning mode without sliding and having to stop to wear more grip aid all the time! It’s really frustrating…
I have ordered it and I can’t wait to receive it!
Thank you for your advises!!!

Thank you for the repply Cherryblossom! Very helpful! I’m thinking about this more seriously since it’s so hard for me to grip due to my sweaty hands! Even using grip aids…it’s really frustrating not being able to do 4 combinations one after the other because I start to slide 🙁

I totally understand your point Moonflower. It’s definitely super grippy, I was able to try it for the first time a couple of days ago, and I could grip so well, but then, no chance to smoothly slide. I didn’t experience the slippery sweaty part, though. I have already a brass pole at home in which i normally train. But I wanted to take advantage of the summer and buy something for the outside. And I thought it would be best, to buy something VERY different than what I currently have. Also, would be great for photo shootings. I’m still thinking about it…not sure of what to do!

Super helpful! Thank you for your tips!

Thank you for your reply Laamhaim! I actually own a brass pole in which I’ve been working this past year. It works for me because it grips better and because I’m allergic to the other metals.
So now, I was planning to buy something “a bit” more portable for photo shoots and to have outside in the summer. Since I already have a metal pole, and because I would adore to pole with more clothes on, I was thinking of getting this xpole stage lite in silicone. But I wanted to check what fellow polers think after trying it for long 🙂

Hello! I am about to become complete nuts and buy an xpole lite silicone! 🙂 First I was thinking of an rpole due to easy mount/dismount/transportation, but it’s way too expensive. Also, I use to sweat a lot and I tend to fight people’s idea of: pole dance=almost naked prejudice, and this pole is perfect for dancing with clothes.
Are you all still happy with the silicone pole?
Does the material last?
Can you pole with leggings or jeans? Is it really that painful to dance with shorts?
Can you still use grip aids without ruining the material?
Also, is it easy to mount and dismount it? I like the idea of taking it to the mountains to just train or photoshoot 🙂Thank you so much in advance for your guidance, I really trust in you…
Thank you all!!!

Hello girls!
I’m very surprised to see so many of us having the same problem. I’m also right handed and I do all my inverts on my right arm (I know…bad me!). But this rhomboid pain on ALWAYS on my left side, and it hurts when I use my RIGHT arm. This is a recurring pain, it uses to disappear for weeks, but it always comes back from a bad, I assume, invert, and I have to stop poling for weeks 🙁Now I’m wondering whether I should invert on my left side as well to make it stronger…I wish I knew what to do to stop this, because it’s slowing my progress down, and I’m so puzzled and desperate now knowing who to ask 🙁

It looks amazing! I didn’t know it. I think it is perfect for carrying it around for photoshootings, I could actually take pictures in the mountains. Considering it now…thank you for tip! 🙂

I’ve seen many, many videos and dancers, but I ADORE and I’m absolutely in LOVE with Natalia Tataritseva. She is so smooth, strong, feminine and artistic it’s just unbelievable. You can totally tell she was a rhythm gymnast’s champion many times, her moves are so perfect.
I just don’t understand why isn’t she famous, for me it’s the best pole dancer I’ve ever seen. It would be a dream to become like her one day, although I’m absolutely conscious that will never ever happen!http://youtu.be/Qew2nOBKGZc
