Also- I’ve heard that if you take bikram once a week for 30 days, it will change your life… I can’t afford that yet, but someday, I’ll do it!
I am going to try this in march! the studio i go to offers a special price for the 30 days

I am glad you two at least are coming to a neutral place on the topic. Stories like this just remind me how blessed i am. For christmas my parents are paying for my hotel for VPC. My one aunt has come to my class. My mom has bought me 8 inch heels and shows all her friends my youtube videos. I am extremely thankful!

I just started taking bikram which is a specific type of hot yoga, but i love it. The heat with the stretching and resistance of yoga really makes me feel like i had a fierce workout afterwards plus it is great for the skin. It is helping with my back flexibility and hip flexors greatly.

If you can’t find the stick on pads, you can go to a shoe repair and they will be able to remove the current pad and place a new one on.

I love my slight two pack… and my slight pooch. unlike many people i am not scared to show it. regularly i wear low cut jeans and somewhat shorter shirts. it makes ME feel sexy to show off my torso. it takes a lot of work to maintain it.

I love my shoulder, biceps, and back. They have become much more sculpted with poling and weights. Men and women compliment my arms all the time. halter tops are my best friend!

I am thrilled that this post was started because often i get frustrated with the women here who are always making excuses about their videos and bodies! We are all trying so hard and doing our best. Poling has helped me meet and interact with some of the strongest and supportive women ever. I HATE hearing them down on themselves.

In high school I dealt with some eating issues (never to serious thankfully). From birth at 10lbs to mid teens i was round. At 15 my dad and cross country coach introduced me to eating better and proportion sizes. At my high school we celebrated a little thing called love your body day. We had sashes and buttons that said i <3 (body part here) http://www.loveyourbodyday.com/. Cross country and weight lifting really changed my perspective on everything.
I AM EXTREMELY THANKFUL to have learned to love myself at such a young age what it means to be healthy, strong, and a woman. It has given me the opportunity to show others love and to hopefully try and love themselves.

Initially don’t try to speed your tricks up!!! Make sure you learn them at average pace and perfect them that way. once you feel a move looks particularly excellent then try speeding it up. So this way you will look fast and crisp and not sloppy. As for the dance part, dance quickly around the house, use the wall, chairs, floor, and watch/film yourself. This way when you go to a dance studio you can maximize your time by just learning the taught tricks and putting it together with your sweet dance moves practiced at home. Dancing quickly with tricks thrown in takes awhile because it is difficult ( but awesome)
It is pretty likely that dancer has been doing it for several years so don’t be hard on yourself if it doesn’t look quite the way you want it to automatically.

There are two parts to this first about calorie counting second about eating out and being busy and losing/maintaining! (kudos to the good advice from others given previously!)

In high school, I did some calorie counting and lost about 15lbs. Since then i have put it all back on in the last few year but as muscle!
Calorie counting, drinking water, eating consistently, and with things that satisfy you.

http://www.calorieking.com/foods/ <their section on international foods is great since often if your unfamiliar with the way something is prepared this could get you in the ballpark. plus the search work well!

http://www.ntwrks.com/~mikev/chart1a.htm this one is good as a handy reference my dad keeps this in his kitchen ( he started me on calorie counting)

For those who feel they don’t have enough time to cook, some helpful tips! (some of these initially take a little time but after awhile they are nothing)
    1) snacks: it takes very little to throw an apple, orange, or banana into a plastic bag into a purse. If you are that busy you probably have a big purse, i do!
Also nuts and small squishy fruit (berries, grapes, etc) fit well in little containers go to the $1 for these since you may lose them!

    2) Meals : There is no excuse if you can spend time on here looking at pole videos and investing in your health you can also take 5minutes out to look at the nutritional info on local chain restaurants or even just preview menus so you can have a go to healthy option.
*If you make poor food decisions don’t beat yourself up about it start right the next meal.

    3) Portion size: Take a few hours to learn what a real portion size looks like in your hand or on your plate.
http://www.webmd.com/diet/healthtool-portion-size-plate <~~~ while looking at website is great make sure you can identify it in real life.
*once you get a control on portion size you will have leftovers making busy lifestyles easier!

    4) No excuses: Just stop before you say it!

    5) Self Deprecation: Also STOP doing this. Losing weight, exercising, and being healthy is about LOVING yourself and those around you! The more you are positive about what you are doing the more people will want to support you and in return you will have more to give. (it may all sound a little cheesy, but it is true)
Hope this is helpful to all of you!
