I like Pleaser and Ellie. They run true to size and are always perfect fits for my feet. I would recommend going to a store and finding the shoe you like. Try it on and make sure it fits well. Then, go to Amazon or another online store (shoes are cheaper online) and order at a reduced price 🙂 I hope this helps!

You should be drinking at least 64 oz a day. Adding lemon to your water will also help with your weight loss. Try cutting out anything fried, breaded, and dipped in grease. Reduce your sweets intake and try eating lots of fruits and veggies to curb your sweet tooth. Maybe tea will satisfy your caffeine cravings? I drink coffee and I've always been a coffee drinker so I never really needed to get it from sodas. Cardio will help condition your body in addition to pole. Try jogging at your own pace for a mile or two a day. I use the RunKeeper app and I run at least 2-3 miles (Army requirements) for at least 30 mins 5 times a week. If you aren't a runner, start slow. Briskly walk around a track for 30 mins. Don't kill yourself. If you don't have a track, try the Map My Run app for a course in your neighborhood. I hope this helps!

I'm an involuntary runner. I run because the Army says I have to https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif. My form is good but I can't breathe to save my life. I've tried the in-in-out on the third foot strike; in through the nose, out the through the mouth approach, and the running to a beat, but I can't breathe when I run. I feel like when I'm breathing in, I'm not getting enough air and I can't expand my lungs enough to fill them. It's a horrible feeling. I don't mind running, but I can't get my runtime down as a result. I distance run 3x a week (3 miles at a steady pace) and do sprints for 2miles 2x a week. I switch days the following week. Any suggestions?

I'm currently 203 (gained water weight) and I've never had it fall on me. 🙂 I believe it is safe up to 250-300 lbs.

With the X-Pole, there's a rubber ring that is in contact with the ceiling, not the entire dome piece. I'm sure you could get the popcorn stuff from any home improvement store. Someone at my studio had popcorn ceilings and she did something similar.

Hey there! I'm still a pole baby myself. I've been actively poling since March but I've been poling on and off since 2009. I had a baby boy in January and I was at 227 lbs (103kg) and I've lost 27 lbs (12 kg) since I started again in March. As you progress, your confidence will shoot up sky high like your shorts and your heels! As far as poles, X-Pole sounds like it would be the best for you. There's a bunch of discussions on here about all of the pole manufacturers out there and there's many veterans who will be more than happy to help you. I purchased mine in 2009 for $250 from a lady that didn't like the color. They vary in price due to material, size (width) and extensions. Be sure to accurately measure your ceiling and find a stud to support your pole on. Good luck!

How do you wax yourself??!!! I got a Brazilian a month ago and I thought she was ripping everything off down there lol. I liked how I didn't have any regrowth for like 3 weeks but my goodness that pain was almost unbearable.

I am 23 YO, and I will turn 24 this October. Yay Libras!
I have been pole dancing on and off since 2009. I took breaks due to pregnancy and recovery. I have started again as of March 2013 and I plan to enter an amateur competition next year.
I got into pole by dancing in a club. I was a broke college student and fresh out of basic training and high school. My tuition was paid for, but I couldn't find a job to work around my classes. I danced for a year and moved to Texas. After getting pregnant with my daughter, I started up again and took classes. I moved, got pregnant again, and now I'm currently taking classes in Indiana.
When I was a dancer, I had a knock out body. Oh, I'm so envious! LOL! After I had my daughter, the baby weight wouldn't come off and pole was what worked for me. Even though I started off by being a dancer, I couldn't help but feel it was personal to me. When I perform, I don't feel myself. I feel as though I am someone else. When the music is on, I transform into a totally different being and I feel as though I'm flying. Nothing else gives me a rush. Nothing else is so intimate, yet so public as pole for me. It's my misunderstood red-headed love child that completely understands me, despite others not comprehending our relationship. In the pole community, I'm free to be who I truly am without being judged and nothing else out there offers that support for me.
I found Studio Veena on Google while trying to find pole studios in my area. I spend about 1-3 hrs per day on here, even if I'm just reading and watching videos.
My name is Phnixx or PhnixxRed, depending on what I'm doing and how I'm feeling. My father is really big into computers and I admire my father a lot. As a little kid, I used to try to sit up and watch him work on computers and learn as much as I could. My father's first email address had phnixx in it. So, as homage I am Phnixx (or PhnixxRed, since my favorite color is red). For me, I came from a background that had nothing to do with pole (rising from nothing/ashes) into an aspiring pole dancer and future competitor. As a result, the name holds lots of value for me.
If there are any other questions, feel free to email me phnixxred@gmail.com 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity to tell my story.

I know after 2 kids I don’t feel very sexy at all, especially down in my lady bits. I was a CNA and I’ve seen my fair share of angry vaginas. I would suggest finding that one song that you just can’t resist dancing to, no matter your mood. It will take your mind off of your stressors and allow you to relax. I hope you get over your sexy block soon!
