I have bad hips aswell, tight muscles everywhere, Physio is really helping. As Cinara said when the muscles get tiht they can catch on bony bits which makes it feel as though its resisting a stretch, you may also hear/feel popping and clciking during certain movements. You should really get it cheched out though because it can create more problems later on. For example I never thought it was anything worth getting looked at, turns I have a tendon that slips over my hip joint and gets 'caught' this has put all the other muscles out of whack (hamstrings, knees, glutes) so I cant even lightly jog without 2 weeks of knee pain afterwards. Because I ignored it I now have a world of problems so you would be best off getting it checked now 🙂

My older sister does pilates and uses one of those foam rollers with the bumps (a long cylinder type thing, search Pilates foam roller) and it has dramatically decreased her cellulite, pretty much gone. She just places it under her thighs while sitting on the floor leans back and 'walks' with her elbows forwards and backwards making the roller roll up and down her thighs and calves.

It basically massages it, a pretty deep massage at that, its a little uncomfortable maybe even painful at first. But it worked wonders for her.

    On another note…

I spoke to Xpole and they will be trying to get hold of a new adjuster cover for me from the U.K https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif so hopefully that works out.

And now I realise my pole is bowing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif will loosen it and see if that helps

I have small hands and find a 45mm easier to grip for spins but a 50mm better for thigh holds/inversions. If you dance on a 45mm it may be harder to use 50mm in the future as your grip may be weaker.

The chrome Xpoles have a mirror like finish similar to stainless steel. I know many people who have not noticed a difference between chrome and titanium grip wise.

But whatever you do please dont buy a pole off ebay!! No matter how genuine they appear, or even if they are genuine Xpoles. The only way to be sure and have warranty/customer service is to buy straight from Xpole.com.au

I just put my Xpert up lastnight and despite being super careful with the fine threaded adjuster cover it got partially stripped https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_neutral.gif It now only goes on a little bit leaving a gap between the top of the cover and the main pole. This concerns me as I dont want to get my skin caught in the gap or have the cover come off if im upside down and my hands are on it.

I think the adjuster cover was not machined properly and came damaged from factory but I cannot get in contact with Xpole (Australia) all I get is Undecipherable phone instructions…

    Any suggestions??

Im not sure if this is available overseas (I live in Australia) but I have been using L’oreal Paris Prefect Firm Pro. It has a massage roller and firming gel, I have noticed an improvement despite not using it everyday.

I bought it from Priceline for $8.00 AUD and it should be available at most drugstores.
