Congratulations on getting a pole and finding SV! You have came to the right place. Veena's 30 day take off will guide you right through every step from warming up, building strength, conditioning, spins, moves and floor work. Every day is already planned out for you! Beyond the 30 days all the lessons are categorized and very detailed you will have no trouble deciding 🙂
As for the spin static debate. I am very glad I started spinny early in my poling days. However I think you should have proper shoulder engagement beforehand. When you can hold your shoulders back and down while hanging from the pole at least 😀
Good luck and keep us posted on your journey!

You are not lying Veena hauling long legs up is tough. I also agree that you really have to push through the bottom arm far more than you think!

Marion Amber via outside leg hang!
sm split trap…
FONJI if you dare lol. Damn fonji.

Gail I shiny plastic or patent leather would… but honestly I recommend building up to it. You will find way harder moves down the line and will wish you had already conditioned your feet 🙂 Good luck and congrats!

Congrats and oh boy I remember those buises!

I can admit it.. I have probably 12 DVDs.. and only watched maybe half of them. I have had V's lessons for almost 2 full years and still use them more than my dvds. Really the best option in my opinion.

You don't have to stop progressing, just dedicate some time each week or a couple of moves each practice to working the other side. For me it doesn't take as much work because you have at least figured out the techniques involved. I agree with kasanya that chopper is tough and you may need to build up to it!

I have just went back on my protein shakes. I have 1 directly after working out (as soon as I stop panting that is) and have to slam it while its cold. That goes for any kind I have ever tried. For me it helps with muscle fatigue and soreness. 🙂

I don't envy you for having to choose the winners though! People like you make this site and the world in general a better place. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

OH yes. My arms and lats are huge. The days of buying a shirt without trying it on are long gone. Oh well fair trade I suppose.

I got to go with Chem on this one. Even if you decided to pursue this unless you can prove harrassment or discrimination… there won't be much point. I deal with this often in my line of work really even if you proved wrongful termination, the most you will likely get is your job offered back (which you don't want) or the right to draw unemployment (and you are employeed). She nailed when she said employment isn't a contract. Outside of that you MAY get someone in trouble, but since they turn their heads at this stuff probably not…
At any rate most states, mine included, are "at will" states. We employee you at will and may dismiss you at will.
Good luck and just remember, they will get theirs 😉

MemberMarch 2, 2013 at 10:00 am in reply to: Help please – Can’t progress to next levelI am so intrigued by the whole "she" discussion. I think most americans would find that (to us) unnessesary over use of our names to be awkward. I get weirded out when sales people do that to me… Our version of the language is very informal and appears to be heading more so in that direction. A lot of older people do not like to be called ma'am or sir anymore (yes there are plenty that do) and in general regardless of familiarity we refer to people by their first names rather than Mr.smith or whatever. At any rate I would have NEVER thought twice about using she. Fascinating.
