They don’t seem to teach regular classes in your region, but they do offer one day workshops every once in a while.Yeah it stinks that all their studios are sooo far away. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif They are going to have a class this Saturday right here in Mannheim but their workshops are 4 hours long! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif I still don’t have the stamina to dance more than 2 hours andI already RSVP’d to go to the Grand Opening for Pole Dance Academy. All Polebatics workshops take place in "the rooms of exclusive striptease-clubs" and not that I mind but I want a classroom/studio setting so I can get a lot of pole time. I think once I get a bit stronger I might go to one of their workshops because they are $65 Euro cheaper. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif My main goal will be to find something really close to Mannheim so I could just "pop in". Maybe I can just start my own pole studio/business and NOT because I want to take shortcuts and make money but to share the love of pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_colors.gif
PS – Polebatics has all their X-Poles installed upside down in their studio. I know one their classes has ceiling beams but hmm…..

MemberJuly 8, 2009 at 10:16 pm in reply to: I’m sooo not ever letting my husband watch me practice againYou know what, I TOTALLY retract my earlier statements. I have been practicing in front of my hubby a lot and it has been just fine. He does his thing, which is generally watching TV, and I do everything from a silly practice to sexy dancing. Everyone once in a while he will say, "Wow, good job" and mean it! I think he thought poling was easy and then he took a spin on it. Ha! Enough said… Since then he has a very big appreciation for pole dancing. He now understands the strength and agility needed so when I can hold a spin a long time or I can climb the pole you can see it on his face how happy he is for me.
You know, I’m so comfy I’ve been practicing in front of my baby brother. He’ll just make a "Weee!" sound for me and go back to the X-Box. And he tried spinning around too and found it really hard. HA! HA! MEN! HA!

Well most women have a second toe that is longer than their other toes. So that second toe sort of "sticks out" and is more likely to get trauma. How do I know this? Something happened to my second toe on my right foot (don’t even remember what) and the trauma was bad enough that over time my bone started to crumble. It is called "necrosis of the second metatarsal head" and I had to undergo surgery because it used to hurt to walk. Now I can walk without pain but unfortunately the way the bone heals after surgery limits the amount it can move. So if you ever look close enough to my dancing vids you’ll notice I have a nice arch on my left foot but I can’t really point my right foot. I was never going to be a ballerina but it bothers me that I can’t point my right foot all nice and pretty. Maybe it is something only I notice but it bothers me.
So whatever it takes to keep your toes safe, do it.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

… People who were born too late obsess about Thriller and Bad. You can always tell the difference between someone who actively lived through the 80s and someone who lived passively (or was born in them) by what they think of when they think of MJ. LOL.Yeah, I just can’t seem to explain to my younger brother what a PHENOMENON MJ was.

Well this coming Saturday she is launching her new school (or her first school I think) and she invited me to come. She said that there will be a tour, some explanation of her classes, and a show. Yeah, I’m SOOOO there. Perfect way to check it out before taking a class. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

I will ask her more questions about the poles and student-to-pole ratio. I still think I would like to go for the first level though. It is like I said, if I like the class and the way it is set up then I’ll just do the month on, month off deal in order to have time to practice and save up money. IF it don’t like it or something just doesn’t feel right, I don’t have to go back and I’ll have the memory of getting a lesson from MPD Germany. Either way I feel like I win. *shrugs shoulders*

Oh boo! Cable shows that I don’t have access to! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

So I have decided to put in the Charlie’s Angels theme in the beginning of my video (it is only 1 minute anyways). Just as a tribute to Farrah Fawcett because even though I’m not old enough to have watched her on TV she was such an icon. Even my mom sported that wispy feathery ‘do in the 70s.
Then I’m going old skool MJ with "ABC" from the Jackson 5 days. Makes sense since ABC is in my screenname and it is sort of my theme song when I think of pole dancing. ABC, easy as 1, 2, 3…

Thanks Charley! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Right after I posted I started thinking hard about it. So….. I really want to attend the first level and see how I like it. If everything goes well I’ll take a month or so "off" to practice and save up, and then take the next level. I just figure that once I get to the harder stuff I would really like to have a spotter and someone who can properly inform me. OK, now I just have to figure out if I have the money to take a class soon.

Awesome! We can’t forget about all the other people that passed away recently… Farrah Fawcett, that NFL player (sorry I don’t follow it that much), that TV host dude… I’m actually thinking of doing something to one of the Jackson 5 hits or maybe some really late MJ and mixing in the Charley’s Angels theme. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I keep on saying that I miss the good ol’ days of MJ.

Well I finally saved up and ordered the whole set of Art of Pole!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I can’t wait for it to get here. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif I was getting a little sick of watching the Vertical Dance DVD over and over again. The background music is soooo annoying after a while.

MemberJuly 7, 2009 at 9:31 am in reply to: Beauty & Body Care Tips for the Pole DancerI think about 90% of my beauty, cleaning, house, etc. products are all natural or at least veg friendly and biodegradable. So I love hearing about natural products that do a body good. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_monkey.gif
I love using Badger stuff and I like using their "Lip & Body Balm" on my feet. After a day of dancing my feet are tender and need some TLC. So I use some balm and put on a pair of cotton socks before I go to bed. I can’t stand cracked heels and the balm takes care of that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Before I go to bed I also slather on lotion… I like using a mix of Kiss My Face "Tighten Up" and Jason’s Vitamin E lotion. Both are supposed to lift the skin and moisturize. I hope it helps with all the stretching my skin does after pole dancing. I used them way before pole dancing and they are my favorites. The KMF one kinda smells like lime but I don’t mind it.
