Oh yes, good question. Actually it is the lite.
I have the higher stage…but it is a 50 mm.
The lowest I could go is $550.
I suppose for the 50 mm stage, I could go $500. I just need more closet space at the studio ;-).
I also have a Platinum Stage- Star Stand alone (circle plastic base)…but I find it relatively useless.

200 pounds
xpole says it is $150 to ship

Kitten,
Hmmm…from what I understand shipping is outrageous for this item. On Ebay someone mentioned it was $300 (crazy!).
Also, if I send it freight, it may be less…$150?
Where would I need to ship it to and I will check.

Actually, I just read Aerial Amy's blog and I guess I don't teach it from kicking…the term "controlled leg sweep" is more correct. Also, I have a different idea of cartwheel and handspring. When I teach a cartwheel…you can actually go all the way over, just like a cartwheel in gymnastics. When I teach a handspring, it is more like a back-walkover in gymnastics. I know some people call handsprings, "cartwheels."

When I taught spotting and assisting at the Pole Expo in Vegas, I taught the kick up to a twisted grip ( it could have been any grip because the spotting was the same) but my demo person just chose the twisted grip. Veena's booth was right in front of the stage, I wonder if she cursed me when I taught it. Anyhow, usually people get excited with this and other moves and they do way too many of them. Advanced moves require alot of strength and you should follow the same protocols for "low rep exercises" as seen on http://www.poleathlete.com. I recommend people only try a move at the most 3 times each side and then do a different move. The fourth time is too much sometimes. Also, the elbow is in a precarious position when a person kicks up into a twisted grip…once a person is inverted in twisted grip, there is less strain on the elbow and the hand no longer twists the forearm. If you have ever been in an inversion and then cartwheeled down in a twisted grip, you can feel the strain on the elbow as your feet hit the ground. People don't usually feel this strain as they are cartwheeling up since they are so focused on the move…but they feel it afterwards. I teach a variety of grips to use in a cartwheel or handspring. The elbow is actually the part of the body that is stressed the most by kicking up and the safest way to teach it for elbow safety is from being already inverted. It seems as though people get shoulder injuries doing this move when they are not strong enough to do the move, they use momentum and are not maintaining a stable shoulder girdle and torso, they already have some postural instability, or they just do the move too much.

Tovah,
I agree…there needs to be a bit more done on safety in pole classes. I believe the pole dance community requires that poles have at least 3 feet around them (which would be 6 feet from pole to pole) and they say that no more than three girls share a pole…to me that seems like a lot of kicking each other. I have left toenail polish across the walls at our studio from spins. I would love to be seven feet from the wall! Our ceiling height is 12.5 feet, we don't wear shoes, and we only allow one person per pole…but with some spins there still could be contact.. ;-(

I’m 5’11” and I dont have a problem. I do agree with what Veena said, because I’m all legs, some moves require more core strength I believe, but I believe everyBody has their own challenges since no one body is the same. Stick with it! Tall is beautiful!!! 🙂

Same thing happened to me. In January I dropped into my split (which ive had, both sides, for years) and I heard/felt a pop. It’s been 6mo and only recently am I finally back into my split, though it’s tender and requires a lot of foam rolling. What is embarrassing is I did it to my left side in May (not nearly as bad though). I can relate to the frustration and the pain. Foam rolling and icing (after giving it some time to heal seems to help the best). As someone else said, on my right side it was an actual pain in my butt that persisted for months, making it nearly impossible to sit for any extended period of time.
Good luck!!! -
RikkiL… last year, there was no Friday night party…but a cocktail dress would be totally appropriate for Saturday night.

I was able to judge the Level 1 and 2 categories and competed in the Level 3 Artistic Dramatic Category and tied for fourth. I was so tickled!

Hi. I was there. I competed in Artistic Entertainment level 2. I separated my rib cartilage two days before so had to change my routine the night before and take out a lot so as to not further injure myself. Recovering now. But it was still super fun, and I wast going to let an injury keep me from participating. Looking forward to next one!!
