If you're trying to cover bootylicious curves, you definitely need to think in terms of the cut of the short. It's not so much the style (meaning, not cheeky vs. boyshort) as whether the designer has allowed for ample bottoms. Just because something looks like a fuller short doesn't mean the pattern maker allowed for all the curves.
PoleSkivvies are fitted on pole dancers, but my secret weapon is a fit model who is absolutely bootylicious. When it fits her, I know it will make pole dancers with back happy. Scroll through some of these photos – and see if you see someone with your body shape – if it fits them, it will fit you. http://poleskivvies.com/testimonials/
P.S. Veena, you are so sweet – thank you!

It's definitely at Symphony Space – I'm trying to get my hubby to go. About time he saw pole the way it was meant to be danced! Will there be a big Veena meetup somewhere? Or an afterparty like last year? I want to see you all!

MemberNovember 29, 2010 at 2:13 am in reply to: does anyone know about pilonidal cystsI don’t know anything about the cysts, but I have had similar fears about doctors, especially gynecologists, due to some sexual abuse in my past. I’d feel absolutely panicky at the thought of gynecological surgeries and was always terrified I’d get pregnant and need an episiotomy.
So I really just want to say, I totally hear you – it’s not unreasonable at all to have a fear of doctors, for whatever reason. And a bad experience going under anesthesia can be really frightening.
What I’d recommend though is to talk to different doctors and anesthesiologists. You might find there are different kinds of anesthetics than what you were given previously. And you might find that the right doctor with the right personality is all you need to feel safe enough to take care of yourself. That’s what helped me, in the end, finding a doctor who was kind and patient enough that I trusted him (a guy, even, so it does show that the right person can make all the difference).
Hope you feel better soon!
Hugs!

There needs to be some special award for great pole husbands and boyfriends!

That is such a great thing to see given all the stuff that inundates us about how getting old means being sick and falling apart. What a duo!

I went through the same thing, and I wasn’t poling anywhere near as much as you. It is DEFINITELY muscle – enjoy!

Wow – lots of ideas! Thanks!

Thanks, everyone – keep your thoughts coming. Especially in terms of what you want on the pole!

Ooh, I’m working on this, too. My schedule varies each week, too, but I’d love to be there whenever I can!

MemberJune 20, 2010 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Least flexible person ever…….Help please =)I’ve been working on splits lately, too, using the HowtoStretch.com DVD. I’ve been writing about my progress here: http://poleskivvies.com/category/how-to-stretch-for-pole-dance/
So far, so good! His stretches are deceptively simple, but with the breathing and massage techniques he gives, I have been amazed at my progress. It’s been three weeks now of doing the stretches each day, and things that have been so tight in my legs that I thought it was just the way I was built have really loosened up.
Let us know how you progress with your flexibility – it’s something we all work for! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Not sure what the weather is like where you live (we get cold, dry winters here) but when I switched from stainless to TG, it was like the world of pole opened up to me. I could finally stop fighting the pole, futilely trying to get grip, and actually focus on dancing. Love the TG!
