I use the cream, it's super super grippy and can sometimes hinder your spins a bit. x

    Hi,

I think every individual has something that works for them, personally I use mighty grip powder and powergrip balm (one or the other) but I don't use gloves etc. I tend to only use the grip aids if it's extremely cold and I can't get the pole to stay warm enough to maintain proper 'stickiness' or sometimes I will use them during a long heavy session when I start to get too sweaty to grip (mainly on my freakishly sweaty soles of my feet as mu hands aren't really a problem.

As long as you are honest with yourself about how strong you are and don't risk injury (which I suspect you will be careful of anyway if you have RA) then I think there is no problem with trying these products. Perhaps try one set out first before shelling out on a full body set?

I know there are other ladies on here with RA too so it might also help to track them down and see if they have any advice which could help too! I have been teaching my friend (who is only 23 and sadly has arthritis) and suffers hyperhydrosis, she is OK with mighty grip powder so far, we will see when she starts climbing and inverting if she needs anything else.

I don't think anyone would want you to stop poling due to any conditions you have, but it is common for beginners to have difficulty with some moves simply due to not having enough grip strength. Strong muscles help to protect joints.

From what you are saying though it sounds like you do have issues with hyperhydrosis. Do you already use powder/balm grip aid? If not it's well worth trying that out too.

Hope  you find a combination that suits you and that this has helped in some way! x

Anyhow, this thread seems to be slipping down the wrong path, best not to use anecdotes….

I def think it would be good to suggest a showcase to any studio you might be attending, they may well leap on the idea if it means publicity for the studio. Might not mean extra work for you! Otherwise there is no harm in waiting a while till you have time or something comes up. You could always have a pole party and 'perform' for your friends.

    Love xx

I use it. I think it works pretty well actually but it doesn't mix with other grip aids well.

@ NymphDancer – Would it be a problem with and IUD? I read that it can be a problem for oral contraceptives but I assumed it wouldn't be a problem with other methods.

I have had general bloodwork for general vitamin levels, which exact ones were done I'm unsure but the Dr said it was all fine. I will try to be more regular with taking my multivits (D+ everything) but I'm glad to know that you didn't have any problems, I'm going to get some 300mg capsules tomorrow and give them a trial one, just take one a day till I'm sure I won't be having a reaction.

I really would love an r pole but with that price tag there's no chance. They do competitions to win one on the website, but you need to have acess to one to win one. One day *sigh*.

I know for a fact that many guys find them sexy and they are seen as desireable on a woman in some cultures! I'm pretty sure that Okapi isn't worrying about why it has stripes on it's bum!

It's the UK inter University competition. That would be amazing, perhaps we can arrange a time to be on SV chat? x

I am COVERED in them. I was a UK 16 at age 13 and aquired a lifetime's worth of them. I've learned over the years to love my stripes. Afterall, my favourite animal, the Okapi, has lovely stripes on it's legs so why can't I?!

    Hello all,

I'm bringing this old thread back because I was wondering if anyone would mind helping me with my choreography for the comp I've entered, I have a few ideas but I've never done a full length routine before.

    Much love x
