I noticed quite a few people are posting about being pregnant recently; I just want to say congratulations to you all!
Hooping isn’t pole or crunches, but I know quite a lot of pole dancers enjoy hooping and it is a form of abdominal workout. I would have thought a hoop rolling around your belly couldn’t be good for the baby, but I guess some drs have approved it and they even teach prenatal hooping classes in some places.
As always I’d ask your Dr. or midwife before starting any new exercises. If they give it the ok be sure to listen to your body as well.
I’ve seen lots of prenatal workouts lately, like yoga, ext. I just thought this one was interesting and if I was pregnant it would be something id enjoy. I am a fairly cautious person though so I’d do a bit more research before I started, as well as be sure to ask a Dr.. Even if you don’t get the ok to pole, if you look around and get a little you creative, I’m sure you can find a fun and beneficial to your pregnancy.
I just wanted to share the links because I thought maybe some of you would be looking for more creative, nontraditional workouts to do during pregnancy may be interested.
A link to pregnancy fitness hoops: http://www.hoopnotica.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_naru.tpl&product_id=37&category_id=12&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=2
It says “Pregnancy Hoop is a specially designed hoop that's perfect for hooping during development. It's lighter in weight (about 1 lb-so as to be gentler on the body, about 40", and of course it's gorgeous, just like all Hoopnotica Hoops! This hoop is decorated with prism reflective laser tape and your choice of hot pink, teal or dark blue, or neon green accent tape!”
The pregnancy hoops come with a ebooklet on the process as well.
Or you can buy the eBook alone ( or download a brochure about it) here: http://www.hoopnotica.com/dvds-cds-and-books.html?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_naru.tpl&product_id=88&category_id=2

Mine is a 50mm, titanium gold x-pole sport in titanium gold and it’s not the newest model with the longer x joints, but the model before that. (IDK if they have model numbers.) I have it bottom loading currently. I’m actually considering investing in a different pole, and selling this one, because I’d rather spend my time poling then trouble shooting.

I tried putting it up again, more loosely than normal. It again it helped the noise, but slipped after just a while. I don’t know what’s going on with it. 🙁

I was wondering if anyone has actually figured this one out? I purchased an X-Pole sport for my boyfriends apartment about two weeks ago. The pole and/or the ceiling have been making squeaking noses, and I’ve been fairly concerned about it affecting the ceiling, or worse the safety of the pole. I looked the problem up on Studio Venna and found this forum and a few others, but didn’t find a definite answer. So I tried trouble shooting….. I tried setting it up several times. The last time I tightened it firmly, but not as tightly as I normally do. I read on this forum that this may be the problem. I personally DO NOT recommend this. It did help with the sound and was stable for about a week, but today after 15 minutes of walking around the pole and just a few spins it started slipping around on the ceiling slightly!!! :/ I was even being vigilant about checking and adjusting the the tightness of the pole before and after every pole session, putting weight on it and doing test spins. Luckily I caught this before it could cause any damage or injury to me or anyone else. But it made it very hard to take down as I couldn’t get a lot of leverage, as it wasn’t stable. I feel this could be a dangerous situation if someone lives alone and had this problem. I had to recruit my boyfriend and he had to hold the pole with a rubber terminate, to keep it still, so I could undo it.
As far as trouble shooting I’ve tried: making it tighter, looser, and putting it in different places in the apartment, and triple checking the stud locations with a high end stud finder. This is not my first pole either, so I don’t think that finding a stud or the tension level was the problem. I have never had problems with my other pole in the past. (I own a Platinum Stages multi-peice pole as well). After reading the other posts, I’m wondering if it’s has something to do with the sport’s design, because when was looking I didn’t see that others were having the same problem with other models. I am considering bringing over my Platinum Stages pole and trying it, but don’t have a case for it, so I don’t like to transporting it if I don’t have to. If anyone has anymore insight on this topic I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I would like a cool pole name, but I haven’t been able to come up with one that I feel right yet. So the name I choose here is fairly strait forward. My name is Nicole and I’ve always liked Nikki, but I could never get it to catch on. It always ended up being cole, colikins. So I decided to use Nikki. As for the numbers they are my b-day. Hopefully I’ll find a pole name soon!

I had some success with sam-e as well. I didn't want to use st. johns wart because of its possible effects on birth control. At the time I couldn’t find any research about sam-e effecting it, so I went with that and it surprisingly helped more than I had expected. Also a low dose of vitamin D can help depending, where your live, and how much sun your exposed to. I know this one obvious but exercise helps me a lot too. I can get really depressed at times, and the fatigue and lack of interest are hard barriers for that. But I put my pole in my bedroom, so that I stare at it when I’m in my bed (my usual place I am when I’m depressed) I just have to walk the few steps and try it. I always end up super into it and feel better and energetic when I’m finished. If you ever need some motivation, or someone to talk to, feel free to message me. Hope you feel better soon!

I think this is a great idea. I was actually thinking it would be cool to have a pole pen-pal like 10 minutes ago. I totally stumbled upon this by accident and was really excited. I can be a little shy so I am trying to get out of that, and none of my friends are really into pole. I’d love to have some pole Buddy’s to chat, and have pole jams with!

Hey guys, I don’t go to a studio, I have my own pole and have been teaching myself. It has been working out well for me so i think I’m just going to keep poling at home. I did my first invert yesterday! I was super excited! I don’t really plan on going to a studio but I know people who have gone to diva den, and heard great things so id probably go there, (even though its a bit of a drive.) I like pole dancing so much I am considering trying to teach it somewhere when I get better tho!
