Speak to the girls in the class and try to rally some support for sexy pole or whatever it is you enjoy. In my experience lots of people would like to try it but are afraid to be the first to speak up.
Organise a Pole Jam. Learn some things from each other in a casual environment with no pressure to stick to the curriculum.
Practise at home. Explore other elements of pole that make you feel good. Perfect your basics and flow, both sides!
Consider dropping down a level. I have recently done this. I find there’s a bigger focus on choreography in the lower level. I don’t feel pressure to perform and can enjoy pole more.

I get what you’re saying on the whole Runemist. I guess I am looking for somebody to tell me the exception to the rule. I wouldn’t say we have the exact same needs as I do not wear an adjustable bra currently. Nike pro bras in medium fit me perfectly! I am essentially looking for something the same fit and style as Nike but in more sexy/feminine prints/colours with a matching short. Although some dragonfly bras are strappy, they do have one called “Sporty” which is cut perfectly. However as the material plays a large part in compression, I’m skeptical about taking the plunge without hearing other people’s experiences and recommendations. Sbrekke’s link is very much what I’m looking for really… Possibilities!!!

Yes I did search the forums quite thoroughly before posting. I currently have a few nice Nike bras but I’m desperate for a matching set. Some of the DragonFly range looks very similar to Nike in cut (high cut, thick straps etc) Just curious if the fabric is firm and supportive.

Although this may not be the cause of looseness/tightness, I really must encourage you to take it apart. In my experience, room temperature can also affect the spin

There’s no point squeezing in loads of poles if students can’t use them at the same time, without kicking each other. Id rather share than have to constantly worry about my surroundings.

All the girls I started with are mega advanced and I feel so behind now. I’m a lot happier since realising everybody is different. They can do some great tricks but they may not be the nicest looking. I might be playing around with pirouettes, chair spins and intermediate moves but they are PERFECTED. My freestyle is of a much higher standard too. Praise yourself for what you can do rather than what you can’t. I couldn’t care less about new tricks anymore.

To my knowledge, there isn’t a HPV test for men. So how he found out he had a “mild strain” I don’t know..? I watched a very interesting programme on HPV a few years back, which explored the benefits of vaccinating boys. They wanted to vaccinate them because they can carry it undetected and can get a “clean” sti test despite being a HPV carrier. It’s very interesting to know that American citizens have to have a yearly check up to continue their birth control. I wonder if this is something that should be rolled out in the UK, as so many UK citizens miss their tests. I’m glad to hear they caught you in time and things are looking up. Thanks for sharing your story and reminding everyone of the importance of these tests.

I’ve seen CKR done whilst holding the pole but holding behind, not overhead.
The arch you’re attempting in the pic is usually done in a CAR.

How funny. I’m also from Cardiff and just realised I know polekat. Me and polekat mostly train at different studios but sometimes jam together. You should come.

I could sleep in my CAR though. My old instructor used to have a heart attack when I ised to drop back into it. I too used to advance plank like crazy, so maybe that’s the best way to train it.

I agree with Joel here. I bumped into my fella towards the end of his lads night out a few months back and we all ended up going to a strip club. One guy had a dance which he said was unstimulating, one guy actually fell asleep and my bf refused the dance I offered to buy him. The other three just drank their drinks and chatted. A lot of men really don’t enjoy it that much, it’s just the done thing at some boys dos.
Whilst I understand your right as a wife to disagree with the plans and stop him from going, I don’t understand your reasons for wanting to. He doesn’t have to have a dance, he doesn’t have to be touched and you should trust him to say no.

Pretty sure it’s a pole showcase.

I think you have to adapt your approach depending on the person. I’m personally a big fan of receiving “Great momentum but point those damn toes” or “You looked hot but that’s not what I’d call a brass monkey/butterfly”.
You have to remember not everybody has the same goals. If you’re getting rough and critical over poise and its low on the persons agenda they might feel you’re nit picking rather than being helpful.
I think those looking for feedback need to give an indication of what kind/area they’re looking for it on. It’s very hard to get it right and even the gobbiest of people might tone it down rather than risking hurting somebody’s feelings.

I recently turned down the opportunity to dance on TV because I was worrie it would be shown in a bad light. The show aired last week and I really regret it.
