5 foot 10, 146 and pear shaped poler here (but have poled at 170). It just means I’ve ended up building some quite manly looking shoulders in order to take my weight, and that certain moves such as Ayesha and straight edge have eluded me, I think due to difficulty balancing long limbs and having low centre od gravity

Very interested to heat views on this, I poled as normal (being cautious of moves where I could fall) during first trimester if pregnancy then really scaled it down after that. Spent the second half of pregnancy worrying that id harmed my baby after I read that inversions could reduce blood flow to baby – I think it was in relation to yoga. My son was born strong as an ox and is a happy, wilful 21 month old. However, I’m not sure what ill do if there’s a next time and would be interested to hear what advice others were given

Same here, for some reason ever since I had my son I feel instantly queasy with spinning pole, hair whips, pirouettes and even normal spins on static pole if I do a few in a row. I put it down to hormonal changes, or maybe to a bad ear infection that I had when my son was newborn?

I continued to pole as normal and to teach pole during the first trimester, just no new inverted moves or anything where I felt there was an increased risk of falling. In the second trimester I stopped inverting but continued with spins and climbs etc until about 20 weeks when I felt my stomach muscles were struggling with it. After this I cut down to just simple spins and transition moves, also did some pregnancy yoga. I got my figure back quite quickly after having my baby, though I didn’t go back to pole until he was 12 weeks due to having had some internal stitches.

I live in St Ninians.  I teach at Sparkles in Alloa now but was a student at Pole Princess when I first moved up, wonder if I know any of your pole friends?

    xx

I live in Stirling, originally from Stockport but I've been up here for over two years now and loving it! 🙂
