It took me about 8 months to have a flat split on my good side, and I was not very flexible to begin with. I did not stretch consistently, but I did pole dance almost every day.

Yes they all say that. That being said, don’t be afraid to grab your pole, pull as hard as you can and let go before getting on it. Also I recommend making sure the pole can handle some fast, heavy spins before doing any inverting.

It will go away with practice. I remember the first time my teacher was spotting me while i was in my first butterfly i was screaming and cursing like a two year old. Now i do starfishes (mostly) fearlessly. Don’t rush yourself but keep moving forward, and realize when your fears are unfounded. Even if you fall from a low to the ground butterfly (which you won’t) you’ll be fine.
