And someone has never heard of stephen retchless or An Dre, two of the baddest male pole dancers EVER always in heels. Not dressing or acting being sexy does not make you immune to the patriarchy. Shall we take Saudi Arabia for example?

Pulled a muscle. I give it 4 weeks. You can still pole but try not to invert (hard i know!). You’ll be back before you know it. x

Its just going to take practice. Women who look sexy on the pole typically have been pole dancing a long time, or have experience with other things that give the body awareness such as other types of dance or modeling. Keep practicing, don’t give up, and eventually you will find your flow.

I don’t have any help to offer you (sadly) except to mix dry hands with itac on your palm, and then rub the mixture all over your body contact points and make sure your pole is super clean. That looks SOOOO fun though! Do people look at you weird though when they see you pole outside? Thats the only thing I would be worried about.

Just remember to really be careful though because if it does happen, a shoulder injury takes a long time to recover. I was very aggressive with my body when I was learning but somehow got lucky and was not injured. I would not necessarily recommend that to others.
-
Its been so long I can’t remember…but I do recall a clicking sound in my shoulder from time to time when I was still learning. And tendonitis in my lower arm that cleared up. Your technique is probably wrong. I would suggest taking a break for a day or two, then recording yourself doing the move to see what you are doing wrong. Thats if the pain is annoying but bearable. If its really bad though, I would suggest stopping practice for on your tg deadlift for at least a few weeks, doing other moves (like the twisted grip handspring with less and less momentum and holding the iron x). You can also try the cup grip, but personally I hate this grip. Some people love it and it might be healthier for you.
-
That should not happen. Which shoulder is hurting? The upper arm or the lower arm? Which grip are you using to accomplish your deadlift (cup, twisted, or true)? Are you making sure that you maintain a slight bend in your lower arm?

Aww so cutteeee! I wish my mom had been a pole dancer so I could start dancing at 2 years old! Id be a monster by now. This next generation of pole dancers is going to accomplish some insane things.

I agree Veena’s program is probably your best bet. Just a reminder no matter what please don’t give up! You are more than capable of a stunning and graceful invert to chopper.

Damn I wish!!! But I live in Virginia! 🙁

Never know until you try. I have found sometimes I think I am not strong enough to do something, but really its by technique, not my strength thats the problem. I was not strong enough when I started training for the move, but I just kept trying and trying every day until it happened.
-
Depends how strong you are. I learned to handspring before I could deadlift, but my little brother did a chinese deadlift on his first or second try. Granted, he has been working out for years and has above average strength. If you are not super strong though, I don’t think its worth the money, but if you have money to spend may as well.

Wow thank you Veena and all of the commenters I really appreciate it!
