  • They just started replying to the comments on the video. One in particular stood out to me.

"Doesn't Studio Veena get paid by X-pole? No one seemed to care about that when she made a comparison video."

Tough they do acknowledge the SSA base plates pop up if you stand on the edge, why the chose not to show this in the video I have no idea.

You have made me want my mirena now instead of in a few months. The fact you rarely get pains is amazing, I wish I was told about this when I first started using birth control. (Though I was young, I doubt I could deal with the pain back then)

Thanks so much for the advice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I'm already on naproxen and have been for 2 years so I know it doesn't bother my stomach. I also have tramadol that I take every now and then so hopefully that will stop the pain. Though I might wait until the easter holidays so I can stay in bed all day without worrying about missing lectures.

After the initial week of cramping has there been anymore pain?

Thanks chemgoddess1 and sensualscimitar, I feel better about the whole thing now. The reviews I was reading online were terrifying there were hardly any positive ones. But I figure if it wasn't successful for most people they would stop making it.

I hope it doesn't hurt too much having it put in, I am always on painkillers so I hope they will help. The benefits of the pills will no longer apply when we move in together in a few months. But I will have to see what he thinks about potentially being stabbed for a few months.

Hi, I have been thinking about getting a mirena recently but have read some horror stories online. Then I remembered about this thread so I though I would ask, I'm sorry if these seem a little bit personal.

Basically I have read that during sex it can be extremely painful for you and if your partner is on the larger side the little strings can stab him too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

    Is that true?

I wouldn't bother with the speed meter. Mine has it but I don't use it, I can feel if I need to spin it faster or slower.

I have never been to a pole party before, but I don't think having one pole would be too much of a problem. If I was with a group of friends I would have just as much fun cheering them on and wouldn't worry about embarrassing myself in front of them.

As each person tries something on the pole you could point out to everyone else what they did right and how they could improve, which would give the other people a reason to want to watch. That way everyone is learning something even when off the pole. If that makes any sense.

I just ordered the NSD signature powerball from amazon. When I was looking at them they all looked quite similar, I think this one has 40lbs torque and a speed meter. Plus it lights up, that has nothing to do with how good it is I just thought it looks pretty.

If I ever feel like this one is too light I am getting the chrome version, it's got a lot more torque.

At my old studio they mixed dance with lunges, squats etc and stretches but nothing too intense for the level 1 and 2 classes. They alter the warm ups as you progress so beginners weren't over worked and unable to do anything else afterwards but more advanced classes still felt pumped at the end of it. The instructors could tell when we were finding it too easy. They would offer variations on the basic warm up so the ones who were more fit could warm up well but at the same time people who didn't excersise often didn't feel like they would collapse.

I had been dying my hair black with Live XXL colours for year and my sister used the purple ones, we didn't just do the roots either. We both decided we wanted to go lighter so we used something called colour B4 that we got from superdrug in the UK. It shrinks the dye molecules so they can be washed out. Both of us ended up with very ginger/orange hair which she died over with a light brown and I chose to bleach my hair to a light blonde. I took me 2 bleaches (the first was cheap stuff I got from boots that didn't do anything, the second time I got professional stuff online and it worked amazingly) that I did 2 months apart, but I didn't mind having ginger hair. My hair was a bit dry afterwards but a haircut fixed that in no time.

The only problem with the colour B4 was that it wasn't supposed to work with the Live dyes because they contain something that when heat is applied sticks itself into the hair and becomes almost impossible to remove. Though it worked for me perfectly and I have been straightening an dying my hair for 5 years now.

How much you would have to bleach would depend on the colour you wanted to go so you might not have to bleach it as much as you think. I dyed my hair intense copper after a few months of being blonde, then died over it a few months later with bright red and it came out very vibrant. But lighter colours would need pale yellow hair first.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I have been off the pole for 3 months now because my rheumatoid arthritis flared up. I ended up taking my pole down, partly because I had a room inspection but also because it was upsetting to look at and not be able to use it. I felt like a failure. I had only been doing it for 2 months when I had my flare but I had progressed so much, mostly during the last week. I know that I am going to be awful when I finally try again. I'm also going from being taught in a class to self teaching, university is far too expensive and I couldn't afford it anymore.

Now my second semester has started and my arthritis isn't bothering me anymore I have decided to put my pole back up on friday. I will also end up back at square one when I next flare up. I just have to keep telling myself that I once loved the pole and will again soon.

Once you stop worrying about it you will start enjoying it again. That's when you will see yourself progress. When I started learning I couldn't do anything at all and then all of a sudden a month and a half in everything fell into place and it became easy. So don't give up yet, give it a bit more time.

Thank you everyone for all the advice, I feel a lot better about it all now. It was just one of those crazy moments of panic. I have phoned my instructor and booked a private lesson to try see where I am going wrong, I even get to go to the stretch/strength building class for free this week 🙂 I might even buy my own pole for extra practice.

I know I was being ridiculous comparing myself, my instructor even told me it took her a very long time just to lift herself up and we are all already doing better than she was at this point. The bruises have just started to develop on the inside of my thighs and on my knees, for some strange reason they make me feel amazing 🙂
