I am stronger and more flexible than ever! The problem is that due to family responsibilities there isn’t enough time to work out, and my progress is rather slow but I don’t give up.

Nick Judd also gave me some great tips on diet and nutrition. I would love to meet:
– Michelle Shimmy with a workshop on handstands
– Cleo the Hurricane with a workshop on flexibility and/or floorwork
– Marlo Fisken and Phoenix Kazree because they are beautiful dancers
– Tracee Kafer with a workshop on freestyling, I love her style as she implements contemporary dance and dramatic emotion when she dances
– Crystal Blecher, what a unique dancer and performer!
– Eva Suslova with a workshop on floorwork and exotic danceWow, there are so many of them!!

Check http://www.lovingfit.com. This blog has excellent workout routines for upper and lower body and some of them are very demanding.

I also moved this summer and due to some family issues I had to stop pole dance for about 3 months. I was working on my flexibility though (front and middle splits) and did some yoga sessions, which I found very good. Check also http://www.lovingfit.com, this girl, Tatianna, suggests wonderful workouts, routines and challenges for the whole body. These have helped me a lot.

MemberMay 22, 2013 at 2:34 am in reply to: Inverted V technique/form and related back pain?I used to have this pain when I started inversions and I went to a physiotherapist. He told me that it was an injury of the rhomboids and I needed to do massage and strengthening exercises of rhomboids and scapula. After 8 sessions and exercises with physio resistance bands and light weights, the pain has gone and I feel much stronger. To do inversions we have to use muscles, such as rhomboids and latissimi dorsi, that are not used so much in everyday life, so these are the muscles that are usually get injured most frequently when someone starts pole dancing.

MemberFebruary 22, 2013 at 3:59 am in reply to: Help please – Can’t progress to next levelI would focus on core strengthening and exercises specifically for these moves for a couple of months because I believe that what you need is to become stronger. Inverted V and aerial inverts need core strength and maybe you should work on this. To proceed to next level wouldn;t be a good idea from my point of view because you will face more challenges and you may get more disappointed.

I' ve struggled with constipation since I was a kid, I know exactly what you mean! It is very annoying to feel bloated during exercise, especially during pole dancing. Try to add kiwis to your diet. Kiwis have helped me so much but you have to eat them every day in the morning. The best thing to do is to blend 3 kiwis and 1 orange in a food processor/blender and eat them first thing in the morning. Allow about half an hour before you eat breakfast or anything else. Also, drinking lots of water during the day helps.
