MY dad just had knee surgery and so for whatever reason, something that has always been nothing to me has really got my attention now. That and it can look a little odd! I appreciate all of your contributions. 🙂

Thank you, Autumn Sky, I will take this into consideration, too!

Thank you! So perhaps I should try loosening the screws a bit more and see how it goes. I will also definitely check out the tips you mentioned!

Runemist,
I have an Xpole Xpert. It’s been installed for quite a while but this is the first time I’ve really tried to do much of anything on spin mode.
And skyember, I think I will try giving maybe just a little bit harder push. It could just be me needing to get used to weight distribution or something.
Thank you for the replies!

Great post! For me, first and foremost, I like to pole dance to express myself. I love music so much and being able to dance is like being able to see music. In addition, in all honesty, my inspiration to pole is to be able to dance like Leigh Ann Reilly. To be kind of candid, I’ve had some really bad relationship situations and have really been down on myself, my appearance, my self-worth, and how I value myself for quite a while, and when I first watched Leigh Ann years ago, I said to myself if I could dance like that, I wouldn’t care if I was single or not, and feel like I would base my worth on my own accomplishments and the knowledge that I could be good at something, instead of focusing so much on valuing myself based on whether or not other people did. This might sound desperate or really pathetic haha but I want to be able to be proud of myself and see myself through my own eyes and not the eyes of others. Pole dancing is what I want to do to achieve this.

Usually I always go for Alethea Austin’s but this year I was blown away by Leigh Ann Reilly’s. She gets my vote this year. Honestly, she has so much talent. I told my sister if I ever get to the point skill-wise that she has, I will literally die a happy girl. Amazing.

Thank you for this. I needed to hear it much more than you know. After having gone for about a good year of feeling really healthy, my Ulcerative Colitis has returned and is bad right now, and I feel like I am falling behind in what was already a slow progression for me, and I have been incredibly discouraged and saddened. Even just moving in certain ways causes stomach cramps and I have incredibly low energy. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to do what is best for myself and to go at my own pace and to not feel like a failure for not progressing like others.

I watched that one as well and you’re right, she did a great job explaining. I just searched on ere and RikkiL posted one called remi sit for Luvlee. Try searching it, because she shows how I basically did it today (albeit a LOT less elegantly…I felt like an elephant on my pole).

Yeah, I was working today and to be honest, the only way I could get into it was to start by doing an ordinary pole climb and then basically switching legs so that my right leg was wrapped around the pole at the knee and then it seemed easier to hook me left leg over and behind the pole. I watched a tutorial of someone effortlessly doing it from the ground and I got a bit disheartened. It hurts!!!

Thank you! I’m on a mission to get it down. I’ve felt like I’m in a bit of a rut as far as progress lately and when I see something I want to tackle, I am on a mission to get it done!

I have an X-pole Xpert 45mm Chrome and I love it. X=Pole is all-around fantastic. The xpert is both stationary and spinning. It is pretty much my favorite thing that I own. I would recommend Xpole!
