Try learning some yoga, dance, or gymnastics to add to your pole reportoire?

I took about 6 months off the pole. Now I'm back, but I haven't been able to get on my pole at home at all, and I've been not terribly excited to pole with friends either because everyone else has gotten so strong and I am so weak in comparison =/
I will say that I found a TON of inspiration this past weekend, though… so hopefully I'll really work through my crappy feelings and take back my love for pole!

I really want to try this but I'm also afraid to…. last time I tried something new (whichever vinegar some ladies here suggested) my pole SEEMED to have become slicker than ever…. and I haven't had a GOOD STICK ever since (even though it's been a long time since I used it). So yea, I'm just about desperate enough to try something new but I also don't want it to get worse…
I'm thinking there's no way it COULD get worse though….

One thing I hear a lot is to use Apple Cider Vinegar… however, if you are using a shampoo that is not a lot of harsh chemicals, then you shouldn't really need much conditioner – I use Burts Bees shampoo and conditioner, but I only condition my hair about every other shower, with just a dime-sized amount on my ends.

There’s a lot of pole love here in raleigh! Hope you find what you’re looking for 🙂

I am looking into getting more pole shorts, I have one pair of Mika Mikaela shorts but they ride up pretty bad on me… and then I've got the cheeky BK brazil shorts which are just unacceptable for studio practice. Any recommendations on particular shorts that will cover my booty??

I would definitely go easy on yourself and don't try to force moves your body is not ready to do yet, just as if you were starting from the beginning. In the mean time, spend a good amount of time doing strength work to build back up to your old moves, and the rest of the time, relax and see if you can't improve your DANCE and FLUIDITY!
Good luck! I know exactly how you feel and it can be really discouraging, but don't give up!!

Yep, my hubby literally took a scrap of thick wood and screwed the vaulted ceiling piece through that. Still want to make sure you do it in the most supportive part of the ceiling though *nod*

My very first challenge was for Halloween… it will be only fitting if I do it again =)

Kobajo that is so awesome!! I really want to try that – did you put the pole anywhere particular on those connected boards to keep the pressure stable? And could you explain a little more about how you connected the boards? That's a little confusing to me.
I'm going to DEFINITELY get my fiance' in on this project. I have always wanted wood flooring under my pole!

I lose my knee hold all the time… and my shouldermount. So frustrating because I'm so proud of those moves!

I know a SLOW way to lighten your hair is using baking soda to wash your hair. But that could take a while to bring it up as far as you want it. I tried using this stuff called "Color oops" that sells in your local pharmacy/convenience store, it is supposed to turn your hair back to its lightest shade before coloring. Only, it turns your hair really orange so you have to dye it again afterwards to neutralize that sunkist look 😉
