Ah I’ve been feeling like that lately too. I’ve also been dancing around 6/7 weeks myself but I can’t invert to save my life so kudos to you! The fireman spin is actually one of the hardest ones for me personally, yet I can do a flippin’ cradle spin, reverse grab, & some others (almost) perfectly! I guess we all progress differently so hang in there. Try the spins on both sides & see if it’s easier. If that doesn’t work maybe you should take a day off from poling & try again with a clear mind ;] Also I know how you feel about doing stuff in class, when I’m in front of people I tend to be able to do things I usually can’t on my own, weird..

Aaw I’m glad you enjoyed your lesson, haha don’t worry about the soreness it’s always like that at the start. Try to do some gentle stretches every day between lessons to keep your body in shape.

How high are your ceilings? Are you thinking about getting an x-pole when you move? I had to buy the 500mm extension because I had the same problem with high ceilings, it was expensive but worth it ;]

Thanks for the replies everyone. Glad I’m not the only one with the challenge of juggling children & dancing! Just knowing you all cope with it & are amazing dancers will keep me motivated now when I feel like sitting on my butt haha. By the way Veena, a few weeks ago I saw that video of your sons doing inverts, it was so adorable & they’re better than me! I’m off to practice now, hope you all have a fabulous weekend x

Hey hun I’m new too, & Australian! Whereabouts do you live? I was born in Sydney & lived around NSW until we moved UK when I was 10. Moving back to Aus this September, can’t wait! I’ll certainly be bringing my pole with me too heh.

How often do you stretch? Just before a pole session, or a few times during the day? Well anyways, whenever you’ve got a couple of minutes to spare do some stretching & you’ll notice the difference soon :]

Aww don’t feel bad, he didn’t get too badly hurt. I’ve done that before myself… woops. My puppy ALWAYS chases me around the pole so I have to lock her in the other room or we’d have a pomeranian shaped hole in the wall haha.
