MemberOctober 19, 2010 at 2:31 pm in reply to: Anyone up for European Bendy Buddies??Hey Moth,
Basically, we all get together in chat (most of us with webcams on but it’s not essential) and the wonderful Mistress Tigger (new official title) leads us through a series of stretches. There’s a great deal of giggling, lots of silliness and some fantastic stretching.
I don’t know how much longer we’ll be having Tigger to lead us, but I’m going to be taking notes this week and dusting off my mistress outfit ready to take over when the time comes. So, if you want to have a nice, organised start, this week would be a good start.
We only started this last week, so most of us are new to the Bendy Buddies format, but I know I’ve benefited so much in terms of increased enthusiasm for streching (I haven’t missed a day since we started!!) and also in terms of increased flexibility really quickly.
See you there, maybe?

Well I’m not a studio, but I’m about an hour away from London (less if you drive as fast as I do) and have a pole in my kitchen. If what you’re looking for is a spotter and someone new to share ideas with, I’m more than happy to host a mini pole jam at my place.
Send me a message if you’re interested and we can work out a date and see if anyone else wants to come along.

I completely forgot that tonight was my one clubbing night of the month. Still, I’ll be there for as long as I can (and rather more dressed up than I’ll usually be ~blushes~)
Looking forward to it!

I’m up for starting next week. I need to stop putting my stretches off till later, so the sooner we start, the better I’m gonna do at breaking that pattern.

Wow. I can’t even conceive of one of my partners responding in that way, but then, jealousy of any kind is a complete no-no for me. Admittedly, I am non-monogamous and have several serious, long-term partners, so them getting worried about other men just seeing me dancing would be somewhat laughable. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Even if I were monogamous, however, the idea that he doesn’t want other men looking at "his" woman would send chills up my spine (and not in a good way). I’m a partner, not a possession. And I’m deeply uncomfortable with the idea that a woman is ‘owned’ by her partner, especially visually. So what if other men look? How does that detract from what he gets (or was hoping to get) from you? What does he lose?
And I’m absolutely with you PDR. Just because some men will interpret poling in a club as sleezy is no reason not to do it. And it’s certainly no reason to say we’re asking for harrassment. I’ll be aware that it’s possible (maybe even probable) and if it happens, I’ll deal with it appropriately (10+ years of martial arts ftw!) but there is no way I’ll accept blame for it.
My partners would want to come with me to watch me pole at a club, but that’s to do with them wanting to watch the hotness that is me dancing rather than them chaperoning me, or ensuring I do nothing ‘inappropriate’. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Whilst I love my partners very much and have very committed relationships, I’ll always lose a man rather than lose my independence. Thankfully, those I care about feel the same way.
I’m sorry things are so difficult for you right now, Mommabear. ~hugest hugs and care~ I definitely agree that it’s time to be your own advocate. He’s not taking into consideration your feelings and welfare so if you don’t, no-one will. For me, this would be completely overstepping his bounds https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif (and that’s even without him going to a strip club! Don’t get me started on the disrespect and double standards there!!)
In your place, I’d be tempted to head out to a strip club yourself, with a bunch of pole girls with you, to "get some ideas for stage presence and dance tips". https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif If he felt this was wrong, there would be two ways to go. The first to question why he’s uncomfortable with you seeing boobies when, you know, you have your own pair and how come it’s ok for him to go, but not you. The second would be to say very sweetly "I’m just trying to understand and learn what you like!" But then, I’m nice like that! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
But I really do hope things get better for you personally, no matter how things play out with regards your marriage. You deserve to feel cared for and supported by your partners, not constrained and judged.

MemberOctober 5, 2010 at 1:11 pm in reply to: Anyone up for European Bendy Buddies??You know I’m up for this. I can’t do thursdays, but Mon or Tues is usually pretty good by me.
Please, someone make me stretch. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif I seem to have misplaced my enthusiasm for it. And my hamstrings. If anyone finds a set of nice flexible hamstrings lying around, they’re mine. Please return them! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Sorry guys. I’m at an aerial silks and hoop workshop this Sat. Bad timing. I’m hoping you’ll do another one soon.
Have fun!

I’m up for this, but I will have to think of what my goals are. I have moves I’m working on in a shorter time frame, so I’ll have to hunt down some more (and define some specific stretching goals) to be more difficult. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Ok, I’m sold. I’ve only been at this for a few days, but I have already noticed a massive different in some of my stretches, particularly #1. I have been trying to be religious about doing it every day, even if I only do one set. I’m happy to work up to more sets as I start to hate stretching less.
The ones you mentioned for the splits I can manage (gods, he doesn’t even try to explain clearly, does he?!?) but some of the others, I either can’t work out how to do them at all, or I have to go to one of the more advanced stretches, just ‘cos I can’t work out the mechanics of the easier one.
Just to check, 3 is a press up, right? He says you get into a traditional press up position, then press down to the ground and back up again. That’s a press up, surely? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
And, #7? What, how, huh? I can’t work this one out at all. Nor #11. Any ideas? (I know these won’t help with my splits, but I need all round improvements in my flexibility)
And thanks again for the recommend on the book. Definitely worth it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif
