Also, I've noticed that the younger girls (18-21) tend to be the ones who drop out sooner, as they flit from one hobby to another, and want to be good NOW (and when they realise it's going to take work, they don't like it).
They also tend to be MORE body conscious themselves, than older women.

ps. even the old top-loading x-poles had a smoother join between the adjuster cover and the pole!

The "curved" profile to the dome tells me it's one of the fake/copy poles. They called them "Excite" then "Elite" poles. They were ONLY available in 45mm.
X-Pole actually won a court case against them, and the old Excite Pole website now re-directs to the real X-Pole website. -
I'm sure it would make sense if they were hidden! Especially as the cover comes down independantly!

Just to add, if you didn't line up the 3 hex screws with the flat parts of the adjuster thread when you first put it up, you WILL have damaged the adjuster thread, and could be the reason it won't screw down. (I've had at least 2 students do this, and we had to replace the A-Piece)

The ones (3x) at the top of the picture are the adjuster locks. They absolutely need to be undone to adjust the pole up and down!
The 2 right at the bottom of the pic are the static/spin locks and also allow you to take the base off.
There are also 2 underneath the adjuster cover which should never be touched (you'll have to screw the adjuster cover down to see them) These allow the adjuster itself to be taken out of the bottom part of the A-Piece – NOT something you would ever have to do!
There are also 4 on the underside of the base. Again, you should never need to use these, but you might occasionally have to make sure they are tightened.

JBS – the content MIGHT still be in there, but it's lost within the database of THOUSANDS of spam pages, and some of the "good" pages have been overwritten, so we'd have to go back through each page's history to find the data.
Like I said, at the moment, the web developer is not willing to put the effort in. -
It hasn't been a year. It was July when the site was hacked.
I was an admin on there. The site was completely free, with no income source, and run by volunteers, so we never had the funds or help to install stronger software. In the end the moderators could not keep up with deleting the spam at the rate it was coming in.
A lot of the data was corrupted, and the amount of spam in the end far out-weighed the amount of actual useful information.
And although I have offered the site owner and the web developer my own money and time to get the site running again, neither of them seem to want to do this at the moment.

Starting with a local comp (or one with regional heats like UKAPP) is a good idea since you're not going straight in for a National comp, get to meet polers that are based close to you, and have a good local support.

Side climb into Jasmine is how I get my weaker students into their first inverted holds without requiring a full invert. You can practically do it from the floor.
It's also how I was able to get myself inverted when only using one arm before and after my shoulder surgery. -
I have the stripey ones – they DO NOT STAY UP. Nightmare. The stretch in the fabric was all gone after 3 or 4 wears. Still my favourites though.

I've used a 50mm x-pert at that height. it was NOT safe. If you tighten it enough for it to wedge in, it will end up bowed, and more likely to come down.
I'd say you'd be ok, if you were only doing gentle static holds, but any spins or moves that jolt the pole would be very dangerous.

Here it is named as the "Post Spin" (it's been renamed on the new PDC syllabus as far as I know). As in "posting a letter"
I call it "Threading the needle", but I first learned it as a "Donna Side Spin"
