    Check Lisa out here http://youtube.com/watch?v=kHgPmhY7wQo

    She’s dancing from 4"20" onwards.

You also get to see how horrific our old studio colours were too.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

There were only 6 and they were all taken pretty close to Lisa.
The only other reason for possibly looking cut off, is the monitor here is an old editing one, therefore wide screen.
It looked ok at home, but then, all I have at home are widescreen too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Lisa’s our head tutor and is amazing to watch.
They were taken on a camcorder, with me sitting on the floor – hence the odd Dutch Angle (filmy term).

We’ll get more up as we shoot them! The student shots are of one of our trainee tutors, she’s less scared of inverts than I am… but she’s terrified of freestyle!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I own a production company with my husband and Movie Maker is probably the worst product available that we know of, our suggestion is to find a friend with a mac and use iMovie or download vegas. My husband learned to edit on vegas and found it completely fine.

As has been said, there are proprietary issues with iTunes and WMM, which don’t seem to exist with iTunes and iMovie. Not sure if this exists with Vegas, however, using WinAmp may solve the problem.

Just checked the Sony site: Vegas has a free trial period and is only $55 USD, which if you’re putting vids online, is well worth the price considering Avid and Final Cut are professional product and cost accordingly.

    hi Lola

I put some shots on our site today of Lisa doing some poses, we have the fallen angel on there.
website is still under construction, but hope it helps. As we get more, then we’ll add them for you.

One question though, your Fallen Angel, is that with inside leg hooked or outside? (I use a different naming convention with the whole gemini scorpio thing so I thought it best to clarify) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

erm, inverts still scare me. I prefer reverse aerial spins like the hurkey or the Ushiro.

I’ll ask the "Luscious Miss T" (my business partner) for clarification as I can’t remember which is which either.
One is the fallen angel and the other is the falling. Vaguely think the inside leg falling and the outside is fallen.
They’re from the Pole Addiction manuals, which we used to use.

Ah, the Ushiro. It is like a reverse Hurkey (aerial atitude) but with legs like the classic Bruce Lee posters.
Lower leg (inner) is straight and top leg is bent. Body, from waist down, is as close to 90deg from the pole as you can get it. Needs a very controlled and strong "flick" to get into it. Needs a lot of room.
Bit of a toughie, but so pretty and so much fun.
If tall or long legged, you’ll need heaps and heaps of room… (180cm / 6ft radius from the pole minimum)

Photo once I get back to studio

okey dokey, this is such a nifty idea, so we thought we’d add what alternative names we have.
We’re doing it too, so the collaborative effort may work wonderfully.
I’ve put our names in brackets.

    Basic Invert (Alley Oop)
    Bow and Arrow (Cross bow)
Brass Monkey (inverted Goddess with Alternate grip)
    Butterfly (Lotus)
    Cross Ankle Release (Fantasy)
    Cross Knee Release (Figure 4)
    Extended Butterfly (Extended Lotus)
Gemini (Falling Angel and there’s a fallen angel which we’re trying to remember what it’s called!)
    Iguana (Extreme)
Shoulder Mount (Respect, from floor is respect from floor)
    Wrist Sit (Hand held Venus)

We’ve just got a fake x-pole seller shut down on Trade me (New Zealand version of eBay).
TradeMe had been asked several times by heaps of people, but it was when we finally got confirmation that the DVD had KT Coates, then we could get the seller for selling pirated goods. GAAAAAAHHHHHH.

It’s everywhere and people are doing it for the buck.

We use the no spin / no invert challenge at the studio to get girls thinking about their in between work.
It’s actually really tough on those who are very trick focussed. But it’s great for those girls who can wiggle and aren’t so good at tricks as it’s their turn to shine.

Chair dancing is also a great challenge. We teach it in our burlesque class (No nudity, but loads of fun). It uses slightly different muscle groups and it’s a lot harder as the "thing" you’re dancing on isn’t as stable.

We’re also thinking about a challenge in the studio for New Zealand Music Month (May) where the girls have to create a routine to a Kiwi song. It’s easier in a bigger country where there’s a lot of artists, like the US, so this is a good challenge for students while pushing the kiwi music industry. My choice is RocknRoll Machine "Want you bad".

I’m looking forward to the challenges, just need to get the pole back up at home – had to return a borrowed extension and the slot car set got built around the base… (Lame excuse, I know, I have 10 poles at the studio to play on https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif .)

However, I will place this months studioveena challenge with my students this week and get them to post their efforts!
