I told my Dr exactly how I’d hurt my shoulder, he didn’t even blink.
I’d not kept mine down and back and when stretching had my elbow higher than my shoulder, which caused all the problems.
Go see a reputable Dr, if you were in Wellington, I’d give you my one’s name.

I’ve not been the "preferred daughter" for a long time and I’m the youngest.
Never had any financial help for anything, really, in comparison to what my elder sister got.
So, I became feisty independent. I tell nothing and expect nothing in return from them.
Works really well.I’ve had to do everything on my own and it’s made me a stronger person.

Happy Birthday miss….
with the studio moving, I’ve been going a bit lala and missing important stuff like this.
Hope you got loads of really cool presents. -
I like the 45mm pole as I have smaller hands, however, once I have learned the trick, I usually move onto a 50mm Steel to perfect it.
If you get a 42mm, you will get stuck if you have to dance on anything bigger.
Chrome is also very slippery, so maybe it’d be best to find a 50mm titanium and see how that works for you.
Gold is quite grippy, silver is less so.

with practise / experience, an xpole an be taken down and put back up in well under 10 minutes.
The longest part I find is ensuring it’s straight.

Shoulder height is fine, most people I know usually have their hands about ear height.
But again, if the ab strength isn’t quite there to get the hips up, then it won’t work.
Being my problem, I relate. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gifGood luck and we want pictures of the progress.

did think about this today too and thought that switching sides may help.
Try it.Also, how high up the pole are your hands when you’re on the ground?
Try to have them no higher than your head, with your strongest hand on top and in "patty cake" / "inky pinky" position. which is were the little finger of the top hand i touching the index finger of the lower hand.Hope this makes heaps more sense.
added this to the end of another post, lack of sleep and caffeine are what I’m blaming.

My kids are used to being on the "cutting edge" as we are in the minority in our conservative town as liberal tree hugging buddhist atheists. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif
blardy hippies!! Bet you’re no stranger to lentils too.
ooops, rather tired and posted more on another post!

It’s not about speed, it’s about strength. That’s what jamilla has said in every class I’ve done with her.
So, its not how many you can do in a row, but how long you can make one last.ie leg raises, make it last really long, go twice as slow lowering your legs as you did raising them.
that’s the way to build strength in the abs – and it works, about once a week, I have a go at a basic invert and I notice the difference. So try that for a bit and see if it makes a difference.

We teach all our spins on static, it’s only when students are at late beginner stage we let them loose on spinny.
Static is far better as you learn how to use strength and momentum rather than holding on for dear life.
-
believe me, everyone goes through this stage. and it will return.
The best thing is to accept it as part of poling and focus on another part for a while.
If you can’t get good pole time, move the pole – or the WoW player. (BTW, have you seen the Guild?? http://www.watchtheguild.com things will make sense to you)It’s not just strength, it’s also muscle memory and we all know how easy it is to forget something if we haven’t done it for a while.
Don’t worry, it will all get much better!! Cold and rainy makes poles less sticky too.

having danced at my accountants new years bash, the kids treated the pole like it was a jungle gym and just wanted to spin and climb. They saw it as a piece of gymnastic equipment – so did their parents!!
It’s only us adults that have the skewed view of pole. Kids should see it as a piece of fitness equipment.
Veena’s boys play on hers – and it’s really cute.If you are concerned about raised eyebrows, install a portable like an X or PS. then you can claim that the area is a dedicated exercise area without going into too much detail.

You need to get your hips higher, that will help the hand positioning.
This is a really common problem for women who are early inverters without good training. As your hands are between your knees, this is causing the problems, you need to get them further up your thighs, which will make it far easier to release your hands and get your knees around the pole.
thighs are more squishy than bony knees, which will mean you can wrap your legs around the pole better.Lift you hips as high as you can get them.
I’m sure Veena has great videos to instruct, if not, try the Jamilla videos.your current problem is really common and is exacerbated by the eagerness to invert AFAP.
Also ensure you can do a good crucifix too, the leg positions are very similar.
And make sure that there’s no flinging of legs to get up the pole, use your abs to lift your hips.Hope this helps, but it’s what I have to correct when girls are trying to invert without training.
