I’m having the same problem at home. In my case, our AC doesn’t work anymore; we don’t know why. The heat works, but the Air just won’t come on…. Lame. What to do?
I’ve been keeping a towel handy, to wipe myself off over and over between moves, and also a separate towel to keep the pole clean. It’s annoying, but it works ok…. now if only someone could help me get the air conditioning going again. I miss it badly.

Be careful with powder and spray sunscreens. There is a lot of concern lately that the nanoparticles in sunscreen are cancer causing. These nanoparticles cannot be absorbed through the skin, but they are very easily absorbed by the lungs. Because the cream sunscreen doesn’t easily send any particles into the air, they aren’t likely to be inhaled, unlike sprays and powders.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any definitive studies on it yet (that I’m aware of, at least), so we’ll have to decide for ourselves what we think is safe.
This source is a little long and "science-y" but it’s a good read for anyone who is concerned about these carcinogens: http://www.ewg.org/cosmetics/report/sunscreen09/investigation/Nanotechnology-Sunscreens
If you don’t have a lot of time, here’s the relevant part of their "Conclusions" section:
"We are concerned about the potential for nanoparticle inhalation with powder or spray forms of mineral sunscreens, particularly given marketing claims promoting their use on faces and on children’s skin. EWG urges consumers to avoid mineral-based sunscreens sold in powder or spray forms, and for manufacturers of these products to avoid using nano-scale particles. Consumers can expect a wider range of safe and effective products when FDA finalizes comprehensive sunscreen standards and reassesses the safety of all susncreens to ensure they they are effective and that they are safe for people and the environment alike."

MemberMarch 28, 2010 at 9:56 am in reply to: I’m still having trouble with my pole after it’s set up.Do you have an X-Pole?
I had these same problems with my X-Pole. It’s very easy to under or over tighten the pole, and either way is bad. My personal findings are as follows: You should tighten it just enough so that it won’t slide around on the ceiling. If it doesn’t move, untighten it just a tiny bit. Still doesn’t move? Keep going. Do it until it just starts to want to slide a tiny bit and then tighten it just a little from there.
Another thing is this: If your body is on the pole doing a feet-off-the-floor type of spin, it should feel just about like the pole is never going to stop spinning. That’s how mine is anyway. But if I stand/sit in front of it and give it a push to try to make the pole spin without me on it, the pole will act like it kinda doesn’t wanna go. From what I gather, this is normal. So far so good, at least in my case.
Failing all else, there is some possibility that at least one of your pole sections is warped. If you contact x-pole, they will most likely instruct you to separate the pieces and roll each one across a flat surface (such as a table) and whichever part(s) don’t roll smoothly are likely bowed/warped. You may want to test this on your own prior to calling them just so you can find out asap, and like I said they’ll most assuredly have you do it anyway.

I never know what to say in these situations, but I am hoping the best for you and your family during what must be a very difficult time.

I don’t know specifically about X Pole, but a lot of places don’t like to accept unsolicited ideas (not even good ones) just because if XPole, for example, is currently thinking about and/or working on a similar idea, when they go to the market with it someone who sent in a similar idea might litigate.
If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a good idea, consider making your own unique pole business! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
"Foxy Poles" has a nice ring to it (and no I won’t sue if that ever comes to be). https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Can u invert with 1 of these cups in? i didnt even know about them, they sound like a good idear and less costly than buying tampons/pads etc but im active on my periods and the thought of going upside down and where the blood goes isn’t nice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
You can absolutely invert with a cup. I do whatever I want when I’m on my period and I’ve never had any problems with my cup. Here’s the relevant section of DivaCup.com’s Q&A:
Q. Could the flow reverse back into your body while performing very active sports or headstands?
A.The DivaCup holds one ounce (30 ml). The entire average monthly flow is around 30 to 40 ml according to the Mayo Clinic.Theoretically, the flow could slosh around inside the cup and reverse out of the cup slightly, but it cannot travel back through the small cervical opening from which the flow expels.
It’s fantastic for swimming, outdoor enthusiasts, aerobics, cycling, traveling, camping, etc. It is perfect for extreme sports also. You will feel fresh, secure, and liberated. No feminine hygiene products to pack (or run out of). No worries about staying close to a bathroom. No restrictions on physical activity. Because you can wear The DivaCup longer than tampons or pads, you have the convenience of not having to think about your period all day long!

Thanks, that’s the tutorial I’ve been using to put it together but the issue I have is with the extention not fitting with the base piece correctly so I’m installing it inbetween the two main rods.
I don’t know too much about poles; I’m just a beginner. But if I had to guess I’d say something is wrong with your base. I would contact X Pole so they can send you a replacement so you’ll end up having what you paid for.
As for installing an extension between the A and B sections, I have no idea why it would or wouldn’t work. Again, if you contact X Pole they can probably tell you why that sort of thing is or isn’t a good idea.
I hope you get it sorted out soon! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Rubi,
Yeah, when I insert it it’s all the way in, pointed towards the tail bone, and spins with ease. I DID just do some online searches, and I found a forum about menstrual cups. I found a thread where a girl was having the same problems as I did, and she tried inserting it with a different fold than the usual "C" fold. She said it started working much better for her. So…I’ll have to give that a try when my cycle comes back around (in a week or so). I’ll let you all know if it works for me (since I’m sure you’re just DYING to know https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ). Here’s the link to that forum in case any of you are interested in some more detailed reading on the topic. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_ugeek.gif
http://menstrualcups.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"I’m so glad you found a (potential) solution! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Thanks for the link; I had no idea there were sites dedicated to the wonders of menstrual cups. I really would be curious to hear whether or not this works out for you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I had never thought of trying different folds.
YAY!!!! So, I tried my Diva Cup again this cycle, using the "oragami" fold instead of the "c" fold, and WHOOHOO!!!! It works! I’m SO happy!! I will say though, that it made me realize how insanely heavy my periods are! Yikes! Kind of weird to be able to measure your "loss", but very informative. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif
I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this forum, and then researched the subject a little further. Now my purse, my body AND me will be happier. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Thanks, RUBI!
For any of you ladies who’ve had the problem of the cup not staying in, watch this instructional video on how to insert the cup (don’t worry, it doesn’t show "real" lady parts!), and try the second fold that they show you. That’s the one that ended up working for me. http://www.mooncup.co.uk/advice-centre/faqs.html#237" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"

You’re so welcome, Spinnyfox!!!! I’m really glad it worked out for you. Once you go cup, you never go back! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gifThat fold looks awesome. It looks like it would open up even more easily. Going to try it.

Wow, I wasn’t aware of "Natural Sea Sponge Tampons." That’s really cool. I’m in love with my cup so I’ll probably never get around to trying them, but for those of you who can’t use a cup for whatever reason this looks like a cool alternative.
As for beccagirl’s question about whether or not they can be used overnight: If you’re referring to the sea sponge tampons, I really have no idea. As for cups, you can absolutely use them overnight while you sleep. It’s perfectly comfortable and safe. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

@ Foxy_Rei
It’s no problem, I wasn’t offended or anything https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I completely understand why you pointed these things out https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif@ Rubi
Have you had any luck getting your pole pieces apart yet? If there is any trick or method that worked for you please let me know ok. Never know, it might come in handy when I have to take my pole down again in a few weeks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif (it’s not up right now since I am staying at my parents house for a while but I can’t wait to put it back up and get started on the pole again https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif )
Thanks for checking in. I didn’t get to work on my pole today (boo!) but I might try tomorrow. If not, I will have all day Friday to work on it. I don’t know how my pole holes line up so I don’t know whether or not my pole is like yours or more like Foxy’s. We’ll have to see. Regardless, I hope I get it apart one way or another. I’ll keep in touch. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I’ll have to look for that diagram; I bet I’ll do it wrong without it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Like you, I was hoping to get my pole to fit in my car. My friend wants us to play on it together up at her house. And of course, it’s the giant sections that won’t come apart. Story of my life.
I’ll bet those new X Joints are easier to manage. I wonder. Maybe someday I’ll get one, but my pole is still rather new so I’m going to stick with it for a good while.
By the way, I can do the shocking all by myself, right? My assistant is busy today and I really really want to get this apart. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

knutschfleck, that is brilliant! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif
If the usual methods don’t work tomorrow when I work on my pole again, I am going to try this! Thanks for the tip about blankets, too. I’d hate to think what those tools would do to my tile floor. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif
I’ve never heard anyone suggest that before so I’m really excited that there’s still hope for my pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

My pole has been stuck together since I got it- approximately a year ago. I don’t even try anymore. I just lug the entire thing into the other room when I move it- being careful not to swing it around and break things. You’re not the only one!!!
You poor thing! I feel your pain. lol

Thanks, Foxy! I’m going to try to hot and cold tomorrow when my happy helper is feeling up to pushing/pulling this pole again. If that doesn’t work I’m going to take it to the floor and try to wrestle it apart that way.
Has anyone else ever had their pole stuck this badly before? I’ve only had it up since Christmas. It figures this would happen to me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif
