Actually, I have heard that tanning works for some people, because it simulates the sun…the only thing for me is that I’m about as white as a sheet, and don’t think I would look all that good tanned…and I’d never thought of using lights for lizards! I should stick one in my lamp on my desk! Hehe.
Anyone else have some ideas? I love hearing different ideas to things https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -

Also, I’ve seen a couple of girls here, at the ONE strip club in my town (which does have poles) who do some amazing things. Mostly, though, I could tell they weren’t really "strippers" in the sense that they learned how to strip well, and that they didn’t seem all that comfortable taking it off on stage. However, they could do things like walk on the ceiling, inversions and whatnot, so I got the impression that they were there more to show off what they could do on the pole…and perhaps make some money. The rest, who struck me as "proper" strippers, had a lot of other interesting moves, but rarely (if ever) touched the poles, they left that to the pros. Still, I found even them to have some good moves.
I think it’s perfectly legit to be able to express your opinion, and if you thought the strippers had no moves, then that’s fine! Jeeze, instead of getting all mad, maybe they should have tried to show you the moves they DID have, and ask you what kinds of things YOU would like to see! Wouldn’t that make sense?
Oh well, there’s good strippers out there, too! -
I hope I can find the time to do this one! My shoulder is all buggered (seeing the doctor tomorrow) and I’ve got super homework stuff! But I’m gonna try!

Wow. Mostly, I don’t like the dances that come out of that studio, because they seem so lifeless and choreographed, like they aren’t enjoying it, just doing it because they should. However, that one is great, she really seems to be having fun and feeling the music, the way I think it should be. Great video https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Possible, because she’s scary flexible, and has been dancing (though not on the pole) her whole life. I’ve been watching her videos for a while now for inspiration, to know that it IS possible to do the things I want to do in my head, it just takes work! She’s teeny, she’s like a contortionist, and if you can find her Miss Pole dance Australia dance for 2008/09, it’s amazing. She floored me. The dead drop for her height and a half to the floor is just amazing. I seem to be using "amazing" a lot! Hehe.
I wish I could meet Felix! -
I’m so glad you’ve got a good doctor, Sissy! I’ve known a few that wouldn’t go this in-depth about anything, just kind of mark you down as "in pain" and that’s about it!
I hope everything goes well for you. I know what it’s like starting to think of yourself as "disabled," and how weird that is! It took me FOREVER to really understand what was going on with my knees…not to mention the troubles upstairs, as well! Anxiety and depression can be just as disabling.
I’m really glad something is getting done, though. Living through pain isn’t easy, and especially when it’s as bad as you’ve described. Maybe when you’re down, you can work on choreographing some amazing combos and stuff, and when you get back to it, you can show off with them and make us all jealous! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -
Hey ladies, I was curious…I can generally get enough momentum in my spins, but I can’t seem to get enough…well, spin! By the time I make two rotations, I’m on the floor, for pretty much every spin I do. Any ideas?

This is great, ladies, thank you! I’ve been wanting to do the chopper for a long time, but I never had any way of practicing or getting my muscles into it…so this video helps a lot!

Hey ladies, I was wondering…what are you doing for music? I can’t find any 1minute songs that are any good…would you say I should just take a chunk of music and stick it in? I’m kind of a fan of everything fitting together, so it’s a bit of a challenge for me!
Just wondering what everyone else was doing! -

Another X-men fan! Yaaaay! I love them!
Welcome to the forums, I enjoy them very much. I hope you do too! -
Hey, I’ve got some pain in my life, too. I’ve got Patello femural syndrome…which basically means my kneecap doesn’t sit right due to my quads being imbalanced, and it and the femur (the big thigh bone) rub together. I could eventually end up without a kneecap, though I doubt it’ll happen. The pain was so bad by the time I was in grade 11 (about six years ago, or so) that I could barely walk, and bending to sit down or pick things up from the ground was practically out. Couple that with not being able to come close to touching your toes, and there’s quite a gap of space that I couldn’t reach!
But, that aside, I know how it is, not wanting to complain because you feel like you’re just whining. But you’re allowed to whine! It’s okay, we want to be there for you…obviously, considering all the people who are sympathetic!
So, I’d say do what you can…but if it’s for your better health, get the surgery, do your best to do other exercises, and get going on your pole again after! -
Hey! That’s awesome that you have great support and great reasons to quit. My stepfather smokes, and he’s tried quitting upwards of ten times, but I don’t think he really wants to quit for himself…more for my mom, ’cause she doesn’t like it. Now they’re separated, but that’s another story!
I agree with amcut, the cravings are short, and you can just ride it out! Think about it like getting a piercing (I’ve used this tactic!) the pain is gonna happen, but it’ll be short and quick, and in the long run, you’ll love it! -
I like Lilly von Salza! It does kinda make one think of sexy salsa dancing, though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I got me a full-length mirror for pretty cheap at the place around here that sells glass and mirrors, I didn’t get a frame or anything with it. About $75, and it’s practically my height and wider than most. I don’t use it for dancing, but it’s an idea!
