Calipolepixie- I am totally in the same boat. I just moved! It's taking a while to settle in again. But… I'll get there!

Maybe I'll have birthday splits instead of christmas splits… but I'm still gonna try for christmas!

    Bump!
Also, if anyone would like to just buy those DVDs from me, that's totally cool, too!
    Make me an offer!

Well, despite my extreme busy-ness, I'm going to give this a try, too! Once the moving has happened (in like, a week and a half!) it will be a lot easier for me to pole, stretch and work out!

So, pictures, and feel free to send me annoying e-mails about it!

Aww man! I wish I could go! Unfortunately I will be out in Duncan, hitting people with padded sticks!

Green coffee extract is actually being used in my work (Starbucks) for their new line of drinks, called "Refreshers." Basically, it's got more caffeine than a can of pop in one Tall one, so it'll get you going pretty good… doesn't taste like coffee, and all that.

That's really all I've heard about it, and all I've heard it's good for.

Basic strength exercises really help me- I use them to increase my strength for the pole, actually. I use weights, but I'm hoping to transition out of using them… as soon as I can do some push ups properly!
So, I'd recommend push ups, since they work a lot of the arm and back muscles (you can look up how to do a "proper" push up on the internet). Also, you can look up a lot of core muscle exercises online; I prefer this one:

    http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/abdominalcorestrength1/ss/Quick-Core-Workout.htm

I can't think of much else… just keep moving! And, if you have Veena's lessons, totally go with those as much as you can, too!

I began poling about 4 years ago, without the ability to lift myself- a Fireman spin was hard. Most of it was hard. I didn't have the confidence in my body and spirit… though I pushed myself hard.

And then, I saw a picture of someone doing a "Jade," saw a stripper (who really was more of a pole dancer, she didn't seem into the strippin' part) walk on the ceiling, and I realized… I want to do THAT!

So, I've been off-and-on with pole ever since. My longest hiatus was 8 months, which really set me back…

But, now, I can do a basic invert, I'm working on my inverted crucifix (pushing past the fear, rather than the physical inability), advanced plank, superman, inverted V, and reverse grab spin. I freestyle every time I dance, I'm starting to choreograph, and I've decided to work toward a shoulder/elbow/hand stand.

I have never been happier with how much energy I have, my spacial and self awareness, and my fitness. And, I know that I'll just get better from here!

Marie90- So, what is an epilator? I'm very curious about that!

And IPL treatment sounds a little scary, though effective! I might look into that, too.

And yes, if the was strips don't work, I'm gonna try the warm wax thing next!

PippiParnasse- It's generally something that starts during the workout, so as I get to the last few reps, I feel kind of nauseous, and then it continues for a little bit after.

The transverse abdominus is surprisingly versatile! It's also used for things like balance, digestion, and sex 😉 I always want to keep it healthy!

Well, I've tried the Veet cream, which basically did nothing… it was frustrating. I left that stuff on my leg for like, 15 minutes and nothing happened!
That's why I'm trying the proper wax strips this time. If they don't work, I'm upgrading to proper wax and fabric strips!

Just wanted to know if anyone knows any special tips that would help me get the most out of them, and not seriously hurt myself ;P

I do find that my Lil Mynx SS gets warm if I keep spinning the same spin, because my hand stays in the same place. So, yes, that's normal!

I've not actually had this issue specifically, but I have been anemic, and I know how you feel. Lethargic, unmotivated, lazy and just gross. Almost like you've suddenly gotten sick.

Strangely, the best thing that's helped me so far? Instant breakfast. I buy Carnation brand (the chocolate stuff, because it's almost like drinking chocolate milk) and mix it with water, since I'm lactose sensitive.

I make a double for the morning, and I've really noticed a difference. It gives me pretty much all that I need, and keeps me going really well. I've got poor eating habits, since half the time I never have food around to eat (I'm out, don't have money, etc.), or I just am so picky that I don't want anything that's offered…

So, maybe think about that one, too!

I've heard that liquid iron supplement, while it tastes awful, is easier for the body to absorb.

Poledanceromance- I had considered the idea- I do generally try to mix up my ab workouts, doing reverse crunches from invert grip hold, and then regular crunches on the ground, or whatever. It's actually worse when I do the twisting ones… but it may be that I'm just working a muscle out that isn't used to being used that way?

Hyperhorsegir and Sensualscimitarl- Good to know that I'm not the only one 🙂 I thought I was really weird!
