Personally, I mix strength, flexibility and dancing. I would get rather bored otherwise! Mostly what I want is to dance, so I start off with about 30 minutes of that. I move into tough moves that I want to practice (such as spins I haven't quite perfected, getting myself used to being up on the pole, etc.), and then do strength training with my weights and stuff, and then I end with stretching! And that's a full day's workout for me.

You can always vary it, though. I mean, if I'm just not feelin' the dancing, then I'll move right along into the more "workout" like stuff, weights and things, and just do a shorter day, or if I'm sore, then I'll focus more on lighter dancing, less harder moves, a lot less weights and more flexibility. And a really nice, long, hot shower. 🙂

Flexx10- I've found something important when it comes to those kinds of talks, be they critique, firing an employee, or just generally having a "conversation" about something you don't really like.

I call it the Praise Sandwich: Start with good things, end with good things, and put the less good stuff in the middle! Most people remember the beginning and end more immediately, while the middle fades a bit. I'm sure you already know that, while coming right out and saying it might be more "direct," some people respond better to a more balanced approach.

It's not sugar coating if you still get your message across! Besides, if it is…what's wrong with a little bit of sugar now and then? I eat icing out of a bowl, for goodness sakes! Both figuratively and literally 😛 (Kids movies and icing, yaaay!)

Is up! I will say though, don't just take my first impressions and go with that- read at least the conclusion as well. I know I can be rather verbose, but I wanted to be thorough! It was actually kind of fun, writing a review! It also helped me learn a lot more about what I look for in an instructional DVD 😉

I have my DVDs! I'm sick at home (argh!) so, I've got lots of time to review.

I'll warn you, though, I'm pretty in-depth with these things. I'll probably put it in my Blog here, as well as possibly my Tumblr!

I started with literally NO fitness ability AT ALL. Seriously. My only "fitness" during most of my life has been horseback riding, and I didn't do it for very long, considering (3 years).

I took a few classes, but I've found Veena's lessons to be the best. Seriously, the best. I like being around people to learn moves from, or to troubleshoot with…but that's why this forum exists! And why Friday Chat happens! I asked Veena once on Friday chat to help me with the stupid thigh hold (which I still cannot do!), and she helped me through video! It was really awesome.

And, there are strength and flexibility training in her lessons, too, which are really super helpful.

Having learned what I have about the human body, everything is possible with enough time, love, and determination. I love pole dancing, even if I'm not doing "amazing" things with it yet…I'm really, really enjoying it!

I hope it becomes an amazing experience for you!

Tarah, I think chocolate is different, too! I particularly like milk chocolate, but dark chocolate is good, too! I like stuff that is…er, higher quality, I guess. If it's made locally, I tend to like that more! I'm particularly in love with salt + caramel + chocolate right now!

I'm lucky, there are a couple of places in town that make chocolate here, and they aren't too expensive. And I'm totally addicted! I'm considering cutting out "name brand" chocolate, and just going to them for my needs. 😉

On the topic of caffiene, I tend to get migraines FROM caffiene! I've heard that it helps a lot of people, but I'm rather the opposite. I used to drink pop (like Rootbeer and Coke) like water, and my migraines got SO bad.

Now, since I stopped drinking it, I can barely have one cup of caffinated tea without being totally wired, or getting a migraine. I find tea effects me more than pop, and I've never been a coffee drinker.

Doctor said I should cut out caffinated tea, coffee, pop and chocolate. I told him I could do three of those… I bet you can guess which three ;P

No chocolate, and I'd probably kill someone within a month. >_< haha

Well, are you finding yourself with very little fat? I know that people who don't have a lot of body fat tend to be rather vein-y, and I would imagine that if you're working out, your cardiovascular system is working hard, so your veins would be filled with more blood!

    Just my guess, anyways. Oo;

Veena, if you need some fat/boobs, just have some of mine! 😛

As for the removal of implants…honestly, it's up to you! I think small boobs are wonderful, because I'm on the other side of the fence. Finding bras for mine is a pain in the rear, and I ALWAYS have to wear one!

If you still love them, then keep them! If you don't, then perhaps your thinking about getting rid of them is a good sign that it's time.

    As always, up to you!

I don't have any other correspondence from them, but I'm just trusting that it's coming! I'm looking forward to all you US ladies to give us lots of feedback on what you think of the DVDs. I can't wait to get mine! So exciting! My first real "set" of them!

I really hope they come soon, like next week or so. That would be awesome!

Beccagirl, I believe what that means is "33g" is the serving size of 33 grams, and then they believe that within that serving size, is 20 calories.

This is common with most manufacturers, and they can be quite sneaky about it. Say, you grab a 50g bag of chips (for example), and then it'll say "25g of chips is 300 cal." That means that the whole bag is actually 600 calories, but they wanted it to look better. The worst I've seen is something like "Serving size: 3 chips. Calories: __(whatever amount here)__cal" because NO ONE eats just 3 chips! That's the point of buying a bag!

So, be aware that usually the "serving size" is not usually the amount in the package. It may not even be possible for you to use their serving size, such as on a package of mashes potatoes (I get boxed ones, it's easier), because you just can't measure out a third of a bag and all the other stuff! Augh!

Anyways, yes. That's been my experience.

My friend has a powder coated because she has very, very sweaty hands, so it works really well for her. Hers doesn't rotate, though!

To be honest, I've been thinking about investing in a LM rotator as well, but I wasn't sure about the coatings. They are (in my experience) extremely grippy, so spins and things are a lot more difficult, as far as I can tell! But, if it rotates, I suppose you could do them anyways?

Let me know what you think if you have one.

And for the record, I have a LM stainless, and I like it just fine. It's been pretty much the only pole I've ever known though (besides a brief test of my friend's powder coated), so I can't say that I know how much better or worse it is from others. It works well for me, I clean it often, I can do climbs and spins and stuff!

I totally understand your frustration! Seriously! I've been poling for 3 years (off and on) and I still can't fully do a basic invert! Augh! And I'm still struggling with that stupid cradle/tuck spin. I'm really working at it now.

You can do it, and so can I! I believe in us!

    (Great grammar there :P)

Hey ladies, do those of you who have preordered know how to tell if they've been sent yet? I imagine they'll be actually sent on Monday, since mail doesn't go on weekends, but I really want to know if they're coming! I'm so excited!
