Will this work on iPad?

Many of us spend countless hours watching the clock tick at work, and wondering how we ended up in exactly that scenario. Spending 40+ hours/week doing something unfulfilling for someone who is unappreciative or intolerable can really kill your spirit.
Leaving a steady paycheck is always risky. There are no guarantees that your new situation will be better. If you are really that unhappy, though, it is probably time for a change. You can’t live your life afraid to better yourself because you are scared it might not work out. You just have to go for it.
Have you considered doing freelance design work in order to express your artistic side more? You could keep your paycheck while slowly building your own client list and establishing your own business.

$385. Good thing we don’t have to tally the number of offenses.

I did call on 10/15 and she said they would check on it and email me. i hadn’t heard back by 10/19, so i called again. i finally got an email where they said they received my money, but not the list of items I ordered. They said this is the first time this has happened, yet I’m not sure why they didn’t try to contact me to resolve this on their own. I responded as soon as I got their email with a list of the items in my order. This was 10/19, and still no response. I left another message today.
If I don’t get shipping by the end of today I suppose I will have to cancel my order. I will definitely not be ordering from this vendor again.

What an awesome idea. I was just thinking about something similar the other day. I was thinking about getting flash cards and putting them up on the wall just as you are doing… Great minds think alike. 🙂

Only 2 weeks since I put up my pole, so very new at it.

Thanks for all of the support, ladies. She said 2-4 weeks. I have my follow up in 2 weeks, so I can talk to her about how I am feeling then. Hoping for some good news. Luckily, they didn’t have to take out my tubes. I was pretty worried about that.

Ditto on that. Definitely report it to the studio. They need to know how the students feel, and maybe they can have the perverts removed. Maybe pole studios should start hiring bouncers to patrol the front of the studio… Such a shame.

Well, I am only one week in so far. This has been the first time I have ever been consistent with any type of workout routine in my life. Even if just for the last 9 days…
I think the dance aspect and putting on some music that just makes me want to move helps. I also love the rush I get from the spins (part kid on a playground, part superhero, part sex goddess) makes it an unusually fun workout. Now, I am seeing that the sense of accomplishment from being able to do something that seemed impossible just a week ago may get me to stick with this.
I turned 33 this year, and for the first time ever I am gaining weight. So, the desire to maintain my slim figure and boost my sexy level is kicking in.
We’ll see one month from now how I’m doing. 😉

Sadly, I can also relate. I knew from an early age that my mom had screwed up priorities. We regularly had no phone, electricity, water, had our car repossessed, and got kicked out of houses because my mom didn’t pay the bills. She blew through a healthy child support check and her own paycheck, while we had a turbulent, unstable homelife. The non-stop drama was not limited to financial worries in our house. She takes zero accountability for anything, even if it requires changing history.
For years I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she is my mom. I just kept her at a distance to limit the crazy she could drag me into. It was still always exhausting (even now living 3,000 miles away) worrying about how she was, or where she was going to live next month. She is also a fan of the guilt trip. After another series of dramatic episodes I finally had to break off contact.
It’s ok for you to honestly identify her behavior and lay down some boundaries. If she can’t respect them, then you have to do what’s best for you. Don’t feel bad about sticking up for yourself, or doing what is healthy for you. I know it’s difficult, but she is taking advantage of you, and that is not ok. She needs to stop it.

Hey Serena! Sumara is actually where I did my classes (at her old studio). I scored my used pole from her last weekend because she got all of those new 15′ poles for the new place.
I would like to take a few classes, but it’s been so long since my last one that she said I would have to take the intro first. I guess her whole curriculum has changed. I find the location a tad far, and wish there were one in Vista/Oceanside. I may have to reconsider and join you for a class sometime, though.
I haven’t yet established an at home routine yet. So far, I have just started using the online lessons here. I hear you on the not sure what to do here by myself part. A little structure would be helpful.

MemberSeptember 26, 2012 at 10:28 am in reply to: Children and Pole Dance on Anderson CooperThat may be exactly why starting to offer strictly fitness children’s pole classes is the best way to combat the stigma traditionally associated with pole. If it is advertised, and eventually accepted as something in the gymnastics field, we will finally prove to everyone that poles aren’t just for strippers. You win the parents over, and get a jump start on the next generation at the same time. It’s now a family friendly activity where people can appreciate the pure physical strength and artistic expression that goes into the routines.

Do you have a digital set for smartphone or tablet?

I will hop on here since I am new, and Lyme bumped it up.
I briefly taught English in South America before working my way through college (3 jobs at a time, Retail, leased apts, offices, bartending, waiting tables, etc…) for a BA in Film/TV Production from GWU. I sold all of my stuff and moved from DC to San Diego after college on a one way flight with 3 suitcases, and (after some bad freelance experiences) ended up starting a successful pest control business with my husband 7 years ago. We work as a team, with him doing field work and me doing pretty much everything else for about 300 maintenance customers. I’m great at marketing and promoting small business.
