2 days a week I train my flexibility/splits after a good warm up and than I work on the triks that require flexibility on the pole (russian split, flat jade at this moment), is it not correct, Veena? I thought the musles should be stretched really good and deep before attempting those pole tricks.

Hello Tacha, I know a couple of good studios in Amsterdam, I don’t know if you are interested to visit Amsterdam or will you just stay in Nijmegen ..But just in case: “Pole dance Factory” and “Rasalila” are very good-).

haha! “Russian ghetto style”- so right!

I had no room for a pole about 4 or 5 months…so I stretched a lot,now I have my front splits and my back bending goes better. So you have really a lot to do even without a pole-)).

I absolutely agree with Runemist34… “splits in 6 weeks sounds very dangerous”. And unfortunately I have this painful experience. Come on..how can you believ in it? If you are not naturally flexible it will take a year of hard training or more. I found the same schedule of getting the splits in a very short time and just did it…till I almost couldn’t walk .I stretched very carefully and did a really good warming up! about 30-45 min and I did not understand why it gave so much pain-(, what am I doing wrong and I have to say you that my frustration was enormous-(… But after consulting some poledancers on FB (Oona K.for example) I understood that this is absolutely NO Way to splits! 2-4 times a week deep stretching is enough otherwise the muscles won’t heel. Anyway, I am just sharing my experience, maybe someone will get the splits in 6 weeks-))

BeginnerI am not very flexible by nature and in the beginning I did the same as you:I stetched every day about 30-45 min till I injured myself(overstretched).. After consulting a couple instructors in my school I decided to stretch max 3 times a week (mostly 2 times). And doing this for 2 month I got my right split-). So my advies will be- take it easy-)))

dear Veena, what do these figures mean?

Omg..ibuprofen is not good for you…While trainig your muscles you are just killing your liver-(. If you so hard bruised just do different exercise, train another group of muscles! When I bruised my hand so bad I could hardly hold a cup of tea I just stoped poledance for 1,5 week and worked on my splits…Why take all these medicines, there is absolutely no need in it.

Rylon, it is better to tell them the truth-).
Actually I had the same…My legs and arms were bruised and this summer my office manager came to me and asked if everything is ok at home…do I have quarrels with my boy-friend. I explained that I poledance and that it is tough sometimes and that I am very pleased he cares-)
